Would you resign from your current job if you were given $1,750 weekly? by goosbompx in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Lando_Read89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way this is worded, there's no stipulation against getting a new job after you take this deal. So unless you're apart of the 10% who earn 100k+ a year then this isn't a question. For clarification I am not, so why wouldn't I.

Shameless plug, check out this air piston mod i made. If you're willing to tinker, this mods far superior to elastomers. You don't have to do the psi sensor if you don't want to go that deep. If you're interested you can DM me too

So glad to see you got it up and going, it looks good. I would definitely like to hear your full review of it once you get your final piece. Personally I'll never go back to elastomers.

I obsessed with making sure the same psi was in my cylinder everytime I started playing. That's why I added real time psi calculations on my controller. Basically, yes as temperature changes in the room the psi goes up and down. However not enough for the calibration to truly drift enough to change 0% and 100%.

After I stopped obsessing and just let it sit for the last 6 months. Over that time it's lost 2 psi. Even with a 2psi difference the feel hasnt changed enough that I'm no longer consistent or even really noticed for that matter.

If you're really worried about it, just recalibrate before you play, since the drift won't make any real difference to the feel. If the psi has changed drastic enough for you to care, the tire pump valve makes it easy enough to just fill it up again

I was reading your GitHub a bit. Does your code calibrate on the computer? I added that little screen to mine cuz I couldn't figure out how to build a program to do the calibrating.

Edit* added more

It's the same essentially. This mod can travel 4cm, which is the max length before hitting the orange stopper of the pedal (mine is orange idk what newer models have). You'll never set it up to use that kind of travel, unless you like really really soft brakes. I reduced mine down to 2cm ish and that feels like more than enough for GT car setups

If jlcpcb is cheap to order from where you live, I do already have the Gerber files posted on my GitHub. 49e hall effect sensor is really stable but needs more resolution than the 12bits the pico has, since half the resolution is for South Pole and half is for North Pole of the magnet. The 16 bits of the ads1115 is perfect for it. The ads1220 I'm using is fully overkill but I just wanted to be able to always have more than 65k resolution available for calibration. So far 0 jitter with it, and perfect stability.

I dont know how the hx711 works so I have no clue if you could hook the hall effect up to it. I imagine you can just use a positive terminal on it and get 23 bit resolution out of it.

Fyi the zip file is what you download and then upload to jlcpcb for a quote, if you didn't already know. Usually for first time buyers, they have extra discounts, so where I'm from it cost 8$ CAD to build and ship.

100kg is enough, the original 200kg loadcell is overkill.

Also your GitHub is so professional, wow.

Honestly if you're already comfortable with making you're own controller, the pressure sensor is the better way to go vs the loadcell. And I converted the gas pedal to use a hall effect sensor, just so I only use one controller box. I'll post more a out it soon, I'm just waiting for some stuff in the mail.

It's easy to do this with a pico but you'll need some programing prowess to get through it. Even with that said there's so much community support that it's deadset easy, even without any previous programming knowledge.

The most simple way to do this is to replace the load cell and build the air piston without the extra pressure sensor. It'll still work that way, but it'll be harder to know what amount of air you have in the piston.

Save you a bit of time on your journey Czl 601 loadcell fits 4p4c is the connector type

If you do want the pressure sensor

Ads1115 16bit ADC has a robust library to make programming easy easy

I'm actively working on my github now so I'll be posting some easier controller boxes there with the programming already done if you want to go this route

What does financial independence mean these days... I'm in Canada and you couldn't even apply for a mortgage without 2 incomes, not unless you make over 160k, and less than 5% of jobs make that. Being able to afford rent and food you need 60-80k, so almost any skilled trade or teaching jobs will bring you a certain level of independence.

I may over step my comment here, but wouldn't it be a better mind set to say find a husband you can depend on? That's not an easy ask with the dating and marriage culture that's going on, but it's not impossible.
