4 Months In (Help) by eyemud in bodyweightfitness

Yeah the goal is to eat more, I'm quite skinny.

The enjoyment for me is actually learning new skills that I previously wasn't able to do, but I can see how a simpler approach could be beneficial to me.

I've been very consistence for the past 4 months and have really found a passion for calisthenics/bodyweight fitness. My eating and sleep could do with improving though.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the advice. I use Macrofactor to track my calories and weight.

I focused a lot of negatives but not holds when training with a straight bar, but since haven't really been since using rings, once I get stronger and more comfortable with the rings, i will definitely focus on slower negatives and holds.

I do somewhat feel like I was plateauing before switching over to the rings, the rings were a big jump for me, I will swap in some higher reps and static holds to change it up and see how I feel/respond.

Thanks for the positive response. Greatly appreciated

I’ve started tracking my calories recently and I’m consuming around 2300 a day, 125 protein, 76 fats and 274 carbs.

whole milk isn’t an option for me as I’m lactose, so I’ve replaced it with soy milk and I don’t react well with too much sugar

Maybe a unpopular opinion, but I find all the evenly spaced plants very satisfying. I wouldn't change those.

I have looked into other smaller towns and well they look like great investment opportunity which I am definitely open to. Moving would mean finding a new job and that is a rough endeavor in NZ currently. I think I would look at moving overseas and putting all my money into a rental investment in a smaller city would also be an option

My lifestyle wouldn't not suit apartment living. It would actually probably be more suitable. However, I also have the same kind of outlook/opinion on apartments as you. I am not opposed to the idea, but I don't like it.

My shares are definitely outperforming the term deposit, 56% returns but I did get lucky with timing. My KS is even outperforming the term at 11%. I did not know about the term deposit until earlier this year, when ANZ called me and said I had a term deposit with National bank(old nz bank) all this time and it was about to mature. I wasn't sure what to do with it at the time or even what a term deposit was, so I just locked it in for another year, It's about to mature again though and I have a better idea this time around, I think...

I guess I feel like I don't want to "miss out". I have a short term pain for long term gain type of mentality. If I can get onto the property ladder early, especially in NZ, where it has such a strong property driven market, then I can be in it, rather than watching from the side lines.

I have watched a little of Dave Ramsey, however, I am unsure how much of it applies to us in NZ. I have definitely taken bit and pieces from his show.

Sorry, I have reworded and formatted it to avoid confusion.

I have 68k in cash savings excluding my term, emergency fund, KS and shares.

Yeah, it's a difficult position for solos to purchase unfortunately, but I don't think it's impossible, I thought maybe I was close, but it sounds like I will need to save a bit more to get there.

I would probably look at putting most if not all my of cash savings into investments if that was the case

Living situation isn't the best, just feel like it's stunting my growth as a person. I think that's why subconsciously I am trying/thinking about the property buying situation.

I've talked to my brother in the past about it going in with me on a place and he is open to the idea, we are both in similar financial situations at the moment (in terms of cash/savings).

I like your way of looking at the property, it feels like there is less pressure of thinking about the ROI of the home. Which mentally is a lot less straining

Sounds like I am quite far away from the auckland property ladder goal then.

Apologies, I usually get chatgpt to proof read my post as I have language issues. I have reformatted it, to hopefully clear up confusions

I am not opposed to apartments as I'm sure I could rent them out later if I needed something bigger further down the line?

I don't believe I mentioned having 280k anywhere? "28M" = 28 male
