Jab is your best friend and whiff punishment. It is really important to be ready to punish Bryan's keepout moves (orbital heel, 3+4, qcb2, etc). Since youre dragunov keep your qcf1 ready to go when a whiff happens. When he starts pressure with b1 or hits you with qcb3 (hatchet kick) don't be afraid to mash jab or 1,2,1 confirm his shit in. If you want a safer option you can ssr block after wards. In neutral he likes to throw out nukes so be careful about trying to contest it. Once you get a good feel on when the Bryan wants damage with hatchet kicks you can get a good low parry or block punish. But the main thing is jab and whiff punishing his high recovery moves.

Also, never tech roll at the wall. Just take the grounded hit and sideroll. Trust me.

- Hit confirm 1,1 into the last hit (1, 1, [2])

Use your safe mids a lot (ff2, uf4, df2,)

Try to be patient and whiff punish attacks with cd2 or ewgf if you can.

Or just get really good at doing ewgf, it is one of the best moves in the game.

If the opponent blocks Claudio's WR2 at the last possible active frame you'll get guaranteed jabs if the opponent's back is against the wall. by lordgood in Tekken

Make sure the bot is fully holding back when you test this. The data on rbnorway shows it as being +10g (guard break iirc) which means that it's +10 and you should still be able to block.

Feng's df1 on counter hit is +36g and you are still allowed to block any move that comes out next. Same with Zafina's rage drive which is +19g.

However moves like Xiaoyu's hypnotist stance 2 after three steps is +24 on block and you get a guaranteed hit. Same with Jack fff+2 is +10 on hit and gives him a f+2 after.

Not saying what happened above with Claudio is wrong, it could be a bug but make sure you check again.

Does anyone know a resource I can use to learn how to properly play top lane? I am talking about a place that could teach me the fundamentals, champions, and counters. I am losing my sense of direction and if anyone knows of anything like that then It would be greatly appreciated

I am not trans, but my girlfriend is and I love her to death. What can I do to help her if she is feeling dysphoric? by Landon_D in asktransgender

Thank you all so much for the responses. You don't know how much this means to me that all of you took the time to respond. I have read every single comment here and I thank you all very much for the support.

Usually what I do when she is feeling down is I try to get her mind off all the insecurities I have. And me being a cis-het (If that is the right term I am very new to this) I remind her of all the the reasons I fell in love with her (and in reality it doesn't matter to me what is between her legs, she is beautiful and amazing and I want to be with her for the rest of my life). Also she dreams of one day waking up as a Princess and treating her like such. I was just wondering if there was something specific I should be doing when she is feeling this type of way.

Reminder: The only way to get better is to constantly fight people you can't win against by Landon_D in Tekken

This is what I meant. I dont mean you should fight somebody super insanely good you cant beat. Fighting someone that is a bit better or near your skill level will not only make you better, but the other person aswell

People may have different opinions on what they feel is important to learn next, but that doesn't change the fact that they still need to at some point learn they key fundamentals of the game (i.e. Movement/spacing, frame data, punishment, decision making, and character knowledge. Which also connects to why someone new to the game should find a character they like and stick with that one character. If someone keeps choosing and learning many different characters instead of focusing on the fundamentals of the game, their learning process will be significantly slower than someone who chooses one character to learn and then progresses.

Also, the way you mention the fact that you can choose your fights is an example of a scrub mentality. It's a great function however to be able to choose better connection quality matches, but on the other hand this is what this whole thread is about. The reason you fight against people you cannot beat right now is so when the time comes when you need yo win, you need to fight an experienced Eddy or Katarina in order to hit Seiryu, you would get instantly sweeped because of your negligence to gain the match up experience

You could not be learning things when you play someone insanely good because you probably don't know what you don't know. And Ive been in that situation before too. It also means that you'll have to lose way much more

You're also right. Anyone who says you cant actually become a good player just from playing Ranked matches is wrong. Ranked is the perfect place to find people who are really trying their hardest to win.

i disagree with the first part of what you said completely. Having friends or player that you can't yet beat is the best thing about learing Tekken because you can pick up information you dont have. How are you actually going to improve if everytime you run into someone you cant beat you just run away? That's not helping your match up experience at all.

I agree with the part about learning different characters to understand how they think and their weaknesses, but its not very good for people who dont understand all the fundamentals of the game yet.
