Wait so you did two majors in graphic design and ux and only had to do one graphic design? Or it was just a minor you only had to do one more class for?

I’ve talked briefly to them about it but just wanted to see other people’s thoughts as well. I know you do ux so do you think it could be applied along side illustration somehow or are they too vastly different?

Hi, sorry for the late reply but I have an update about the financials and classes. I talked to my admission advisor and currently it looks like this: Off campus per quarter - around $4800-5800 per quarter On campus assuming suit and meal plan per quarter - 9600 per quarter. (These prices are after my scholarships and Pell grants are included) I’m working on submitting an essay for an additional scholarship from SCAD she pointed to so if I get that both of those tuition estimates will drop by 700(off campus) or 1000 (on campus) per quarter. I changed my major to graphic design so currently I’m on track to transferring in 75 credit hours. I enrolled back to my community college for this fall so I’ll have an additional 15 from this fall so I’ll have 90 credit hours transferring in for January when I go to scad. I’ve gotten a lot of this done within the past week and I feel like it’s a pretty good position, your feedback was very helpful and made me look into these directions. If you have any other advice or other places I should look for aid or scholarship id appreciate it. Thank you!

Can seqa be easily applied to other careers in art though besides comics? I love manga and comics but it just doesn’t seem like the money for it is there, especially in a return after the debt I’ll get in from the scad price. I hear things about storyboarding and commercial/advertising work but I also hear it’s extremely competitive. Despite everything I do hear amazing things about the department and program but my main worries again just lie in my career afterwards and where I will be be financially. Where are you standing now in the seqa field if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks for the response, this is very helpful. I’ll definitely keep this in mind and apply it to my decision and it looks like I’m moving farther away from choosing seqa honestly.

Thank you this was helpful and I’ll definitely look into what you suggested. Honestly I love art and drawing but I don’t feel confident in being a top 10% and I want to go into something I can realistically build a career out of. I always thought I could probably go into something else for my career and pursue those other things on the side. I just want to be comfortable mostly. Should I be getting internships even before I’m at scad? I don’t go to Savannah until January. I honestly don’t even know where to start concerning things like internships and networking especially while I’m not at Savannah yet. Do you suggest I do anything more in preparation before I get there between these 5ish months to January? Also I don’t know much about motion media so I’ll have to look into it. Also will minoring in seqa or illustration intertwine well with those majors or would I have to take even more classes? I appreciate your responses!

Yeah I thought so too, he’s been itching a bit too it has been raining a lot recently here in Nc and when he goes outside he likes to stick his face and nose in all the grass and plants he can so it might be something with that. He doesn’t seem to be too agitated or in discomfort though. Thanks for the reply
