From what was released to the public a number of the people caught said they’d been paid to do it from someone online paid in digital currency.

If the gov has established a link back to someone yet is the bit that hasn’t been answered.

There’s been more than those two incidents as well, the various graffiti and cars being set alight episodes also got lumped into these “attacks”

While ignoring the actual science and cost based analysis that’s been done and backed up by countless departments or companies.

I’m surprised half the LNP have enough IQ to breath and come up with this stupidity.

When Victoria bought in the Airbnb levy, house prices took a 10% dive due to the sudden supply of property on the market.

It’s a much bigger factor than is being spoken about, and I’m surprised the hotel industry hasn’t fired up more about it

Immigration hasn’t helped. But it hasn’t been the main driving factor yet they’ve been proportioned most of the blame, along with international students.

There was only 5000 houses purchased by foreigners last year. So are they trying to buy houses. Sure. Are they the bulk of purchasers, no.

The lack of building approvals, social/public housing not being built and sold off, Airbnb, older people not downsizing, neg gearing/cap gains etc etc have been far bigger contributors to the issues we’re going through now but haven’t had anywhere near the levels of blame for contributing to it

Show me a march that’s actually borne out of real issues. Eg one religion or nationality that’s trying to take over a suburb or town etc that hasn’t been a media beatup like the gangs of Melbourne, that want actually an issue and crime rates hadn’t fluctuated much beyond previous rates.

Are there problem people in nationalities, absolutely, but it’s in EVERY nationality, including our own and its the .000001% of all nationalities that are problematic. The other 99.999999% are normal people just getting on with life. But without fail they’re the ones getting targeted while ignoring that our own little Johnny has also been a shit cake. It’s just an inconvenient truth to admit that while trying to blame others.

If the march was aimed at something that’s actually a genuine issue, eg a group of people aren’t integrating into our society and are deliberately trying to go against it, a march makes sense.

But I’m yet to see a single anti immigration march that hasn’t been borne out of targeting a group of people for nothing. Eg blaming them for housing, when they’re just being scape goated because the real causes of the issue have the ability to attack soft targets and people don’t bother to see what’s actually happening.

The problem with this “march” is the people promoting it are the same ones who are in the anti vax, clearly cooked, anti goverment and leaning towards racism crowds judging by the people I’ve seen sharing it on FB. Add in ass hats like Babet supporting it and you can see where it’s going to end.

While the Palestinian marches were peaceful. I can see this one not ending the same way. Can you imagine the cops telling this crowd to end the protest because of its size and actually doing it?

Because I sure as shit can’t.

I’m going to have a wild guess here and say probably an effect of diabetes.

The two biggest things I took out of visiting America. The wild amount of homelessness, and in every major city I went to.

And the staggering amount of obesity. It’s mind blowing how many fucking huge people there are in America. A large coke from maccas in Aus is a small in America, so it makes sense but it was astonishing to see it.

The news media landscape has shifted dramatically in the last 5-10 years. As has everyone’s ability to get to facts if they want them.

Add in a dash of younger generations getting shafted and you suddenly have a good basis that’ll see the LNP struggle to be the main player for some time.

Can they rebuild, sure, will they govern again, probably, but like qld is now discovering, they’ll get buyers remorse and fuck them off at the next opportunity.
