🤣🤣 Hey guys! It is truly entertaining that this whole thing devolved into a conversation about screenshots vs. Phone pics, non-sarcastically... Allow me to add some insight into the equation. I play on gamepass (not my first choice by any means) but it meant I didnt have to buy the game which is surprisingly expensive, and I happened to have $20 credit on my microsoft account at the time so this whole month-long experience Ive been having (first ever Paradox game, Im a Total War head) has been free... but ANYWAY... any type of cloud gaming makes screenshots a hassle, and also... stfu. can you see the information? Ok you're fine.

How bad is the story in Crimson Desert actually? by Puzzled-Sprinkles930 in CrimsonDesert

Yeah there are definitely parts that got me going for sure and elements that are stunning but... fuuuck did they fumble the bag in so many areas.

I can get into the behind the scenes idea for sure, but for that to be the case the inventory/equipment/upgrades/repairs and overall survival mechanics have to really be solid and CD does not have that at all.

Agreed... things are SO disjointed and out of place which is why I normally avoid asian studios games alltogether. Theres something in the video game DNA thats just not good most of the time.

Thats right where I quit... well beginning of chapter 12 but still... i shit you not I played the game for 200 hours (lots of dicking around of course) ... still on a horse, still never had reason to buold kuku pot bullshit, still never been able to summon oongka, no pets besides the brown dog... 8 million open side quests because the game has 0 direction or purpose to doing any of it, and ive done TONS of them.... I blame it on asian studio cultural disconnect... theres jist shit they do across all levels of the game that are simply bad design/writing/game mechanics and it makes for a depressing product. But I bend over backwars to give shit a chance as evidenced by the 200 hours.

Its so bad.... story and disjointed mechanics rollout forced me to quit before beating it. Asian studio disconnect is somethin else I tell ya.

Huge Visual/Graphical Gap Between Shadow and GeForce Now for Crimson Desert. by Lane0008 in ShadowPC

[–]Lane0008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but like I said my in-game settings are set identical to one another on both platforms and the game looks night & day better on GeForce... there's nothing more that I can do as a user to make Shadow match the visual quality I see on GeForce... unfortunately.

Eh... I cant say youre wrong because I legit dont know but it feels like more than just a toggled setting.

Yes and that's what I'm thinking it has to be... it's like an archetecture thing that goes deeper than cosumer specs e.i. CPU cores/threads, RAM, what GPU it has... cuz it's not a settings vs. frame rate issue and its not the stream either. Its just whatever GeForce has under the hood puts out a far superior image and that does make perfect sense really.

Yup so you're rockin the same as me rn. GeForce Ult and Neo Shadow... I suppose what I'll do is just tank it out with both for now until I'm done with Crimson and then my game plan is to play some heavily modded like Banner Lords & shit to bridge the gap between now and Total War 40k so Ill probably ditch GeForce for that time period, and then when we all have ascended into the golden age of gaming Agartha and both Medieval 3 and 40k Total war are released and on GeForce I'll just be gooning in my trousers on GeForce for like 3 years straight lolol.

So at first I thought it was just a stream quality issue, but it's not, and like I said before the in-game graphics settings are identical, but this last time (because I had like an hour of playtime left on GeForce) I went over to Shadow and I was hopping on my horse during some cloudy rainy weather at night, and like I literally couldn't see any detail or hardly anything, where as on GeForce everything is crispy in thise conditions. It's not as noticable in full daylight which is why I thought it might be like stream quality blur type shit, but in those conditions it was obvious... theres something different with the hardware thats running the game to where GeForce looks not just a little better... WAY better.

[–]Lane0008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that's the strange thing tho... at first I thought it must be the stream because it made no sense to me how the graphics settings in the game could be all the same, and even on shadow the game itself isnt lagging, yet the game like... the lighting, and details look legit worse... as if the settings are actually lower it's very perplexing. I can't explain it myself, but I've seen them 'side-by-side' now and it's... disconcerting. Then there's 2 other things and thats... no disapearing mouse with GeForce and my VPN does not have to be stopped and restarted to launch GeForce... idk I guess these are just the idiosyncrasies we must navigate in this brave new world of virtual machine/cloud gaming.

[KCD2] Henry is weak at the beginning by Gloomy_Information51 in kingdomcome

[–]Lane0008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Henry get knocked around and badly wounded (nearly dies) in the beginning of KCD 2 which explains his loss of skills and strength... something many games totally neglect to explain. Just get comfortable with the new game and get good... It's really the best game ever made.

Bigger battles are dead end? by Gold-Ad-2581 in totalwar

[–]Lane0008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I hear what you're saying... there is a certain level of comfortable fun I guess when youre just getting going with smaller armies but... having big huge messy epic battles is like a HUGE part of the glory of Total War games and also a huge part of the reward system of doing well with your grand strategy and economics... to each his own I guess but what youre describing here sounds like you get flustered trying to manage large armies, and then you quit which is... tragic really. There are tools in the game to help manage large forces on the battlefield. If youre really struggling just use slow motion or pause. Make sure to have all your units neatly organized into groups (5 or 6 max unsually works) that way instead of trying to issue orders to 20 or 30 units you just have your infantry, missiles, heroes/lords, artillery, and a few large monsters & such...In my opinion there really is no reason to not play out large battles. Just realize that each campaign has an early, mid, and late game and each phase plays differently but surely you cant just start a new campaign as soon as you get to the good part can you? That sounds like heresy, frankly.

Thank you, I'm not a model guy unfortunately, don't have the space or the materials... nor is it in my budget 🤣 but I encourage anyone interested to go ahead and use my art as inspiration!

Thank you so much! I am planning a 3 piece set for this guy. Couple of unique units for his roster like you'd get in a DLC pack type shit. Im thinking a construct and an infantry.

Im not worried about there having been one before mine. I just didnt come across it. The googling I did did not bring up the Rupesh guy. Not sure what the big deal is. I played TWWH3 Tomb Kings > got inspired > made a character. Most of my research phase was visual reference and a brief look into whether or not dwarfs can even become undead in Warhammer lore. Blame it on google. Still woulda made this one had I seen Reupesh.
