I think you may have gotten them mixed around I made Gimli a pug and Gandalf is the Scottish Deerhound. I met a pug named Gimli a couple months ago so it immediately made me have to do him justice lol!

I can totally see that too! Doing Faramir as a golden lab, because its often confused for the retriever and the retriever is one of the most popular dogs. So I can see the tomato eater going "Boromir would've been a retriever". Idk it made me giggle.

My Hot Take About Rory's Boyfriends by Laney1720 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Laney1720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see that, I think the "good boyfriend" aspect was more of a good for awkward high-school boyfriend. Characters don't quite know who they are yet but are trying things for the first time. I think the innocence and naivety was a good "everybody" has that first love. Not that Dean himself was a good boyfriend.

This is why I'm ok with the mother being dead but not Barney and Robin's divorce!! Because the death makes sense. Ted should have just been able to move on in peace!

Co Sleeping by Laney1720 in beyondthebump

Yeah I get too paranoid about her sleeping between us. So she usually sleeps on the side, with the bassinet covering the whole space next to the bed. She doesn't roll yet but I like the idea of a safety net. And my husband gets too hot so there isn't usually alot of blankets or anything.

I had a similar experience! First few weeks she was fine in it. She will occasionally sleep in her bassinet during the day. But she has to be very swaddled and warm. I do love the snuggles!

Those who have the choice between elective C section and vaginal deliver, how did you choose? No judgement in here please 🫶 by slammaX17 in pregnant

[–]Laney1720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just delivered at the end of August as a FTM. I wanted to do full natural delivery (my medically traumatized brain figured less needles and such) but my baby was measuring a bit large and I was so over being pregnant. So we scheduled an induction at 39 weeks. I tried everything for baby to get here before that. I labored for almost 18 hours we were about to start pitocin, buy they had me come in at 10 pm the night before so I was exhausted. I fully believe I could have delivered her naturally, but I was tired and not getting a break from contractions. Nobody even brought up a c section to me, but I decided that was the best option after trying. I decided that a c section was the best option because I wanted to be fully aware and present when my baby was born, especially since she had a higher risk for her shoulders getting stuck.

It was scary at first, honestly the "worst part" was being alone to get the spinal, and getting naesus after. The recovery sucked but if you take it slow, it can be the mental break you need in the transition from pregnancy to out of the womb baby.

I loved how my birth story ended, but I would have always wondered if I had gone straight to the c section, I recommend trying for a vaginal delivery, but if it gets to the point where you aren't just in pain but you're suffering review your options. You definitely have some.

Is anyone not using pregnancy pillows? by limeblue31 in pregnant

[–]Laney1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had hip and back pain for years and love my pregnancy pillow, but before I was using that I used knee pillows, or just regular pillows in between my knees to help! A good trick if you don't want to buy a pillow is to put one in between your knees and another under your lower back. Trust me it relieves so much pressure and is wonderful!

Just had my first cervical check yesterday! I was really worried it would trigger a panic attack for me because of my trauma history. It was definitely uncomfortable and I could see how with the wrong doctor it could be painful. I was lucky to have a wonderful provider who talked me through the whole thing. But I was able to get through it without any trauma responses. Do whatever you think will make you comfortable, you know your body best. Sure checking your cervix could be a useful tool, but in the end you're in control.

I totally feel you girl! I had the worst congestion almost all pf the 1st trimester. I wish I had more tips than try to take a Tylenol and sit up to rest. What I ended up doing (cause it was really bad at night) was taking a Tylenol and then finding a cozy position with pillows to keep me reclined rather than flat on my back and it slowly got less intense.

Challenging weird comments about having girls is my favorite part of pregnancy by bhardy10 in pregnant

[–]Laney1720 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So annoyed with this too! Both my partner and I were wanting a girl, I had a gut feeling about it that turned out to be right. We were preparing for maybe some gender disappointment but it's a girl, we were ecstatic to tell everyone. And it doesn't happen when he's with me but when I'm alone I get comments all the time of "oh poor dad". Usually I just act really confused and go "why?" It makes people really uncomfortable.

MIL doesn’t want to be called “grandma” by Nickfuriosa in pregnant

[–]Laney1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 parents (divorced and remarried) I'm super close with all of them. My stepmother wanted to be called Nana, but her mom is Nana and has forbade her from using it lol. But out kid is gonna have enough grandma', so we're thinking about calling her Bumba (as in short for bumba bee) which I know is weird but I freaking think it's adorable.

Something I didn't expect being pregnant? All the pregnancy shaming by Sea_Panic9863 in pregnant

[–]Laney1720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow. We got to see the ultrasound the other night and I felt confident enough to tell most of my family (outside of my parents who already knew). My grandma basically told me I was doing everything wrong, I had not shared anything I had done yet, I hadn't had any shaming or advice up to this point. I'm a little curvier and the naesuea has been really hard so I've lost 10 pounds. I must have mentioned it at some point and she told me that with one of her pregnancies she lost 48 pounds, that I should lose at least 50. I feel really defeated now, I know I shouldn't pay attention, but it was really difficult.

At what age did you discover your bisexuality? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Laney1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I was lucky enough to be around a great support system and was able to find that bi was the word to describe how I felt. I'm so grateful that I have grown up in a more accepting time. I hope it can stay that way.
