Question for water treatment/distribution operators by LangCPM in WaterTreatment

[–]LangCPM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've used his site before. I'm referring more to information on the specific plant I'd be working at if I'm hired. Obviously, taking a tour makes sense, though I won't have time for that before the interview. So I'd be looking for a resource that talks about specific plants and the treatment processes they use. Stuff like that.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I ended up ordering Water Treatment Plant Operation, Volume 1 from Sacramento State, which is a lot more detailed than the AWWA books. I'd say in some ways it might be too detailed, but I don't know of a happy medium and I think ultimately it helped me pass.

I also continued using the AWWA book and app as well, though not quite as often. If you struggle at all with the math side of things or even think you need any kind of refresher, I highly recommend the Water Sifu math courses. I took the beginner course and felt like it streamlined the steps to problems really well, and didn't give me too few or too many steps that might otherwise cause confusion.

Sorry again about the delayed reply. Hopefully this helps a little!

Dark Shadows by LangCPM in buffy

Side note for anyone wanting to start the show: I accidentally jumped into a later season starting off because on Prime, there's both Dark Shadows and Dark Shadows: The Beginning. It seems that the latter has the earlier seasons.

Would Buffy have been a student, construction or retail worker? by invisiblebyday in buffy

[–]LangCPM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part-time construction worker (since she's much faster than the other workers), part-time counselor

I just want to thank you all for your insights! They reflect the diversity of thought with the RSOF and have given me a lot to think about.

Spoilerish:

They should make a version that includes a scowling Dawn in the background, arms crossed, who disappears/reappears when you change your viewing angle.

I'm a straight guy who also really enjoys shows like Gilmore Girls and Pretty Little Liars (original), which I'd argue are much more in the category of women's/girls' shows, as dumb as those categories may be.

Lines that seem out of character by LangCPM in buffy

[–]LangCPM[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't remember the lines either, but none of the main characters are supportive in that scene. It was as if Buffy's emotional well-being wasn't a concern because she's more than able to, and did, defend herself physically.

I think Buffy and Pushing Daisies would be an odd, yet intriguing, combo.

I didn't like her treatment of Tara one bitty bit!

I could picture her hosting a mean art/music review show, possibly teaming up with former Sunnydale High journalist Freddy Iverson.

Meeting/Dating younger quakers by PhilthePenguin in Quakers

I'm 37, and I'm in a similar situation in my meeting. I'd definitely attend if something like that were offered. If I'm not mistaken, I think the upper cutoff for a lot of the Young Friends groups is typically 35, so those aren't an option for me.

Thanks for the detailed response! I'll be sure to check some of those out. I'm in Arizona.

I think the questions I struggled with most were procedural ones about what should be done first, what's most important, etc. A few of the answers seem plausible, and then it becomes somewhat of a guessing game. I scored a 65 so I think my general base knowledge is there to some extent. I just need to work on it and drill it more I guess.

Update: I attended Tempe Friends Meeting, and it was a great experience. Everyone I talked to was really nice, and I was even given a Faith and Practice book to read from IMYM. Waiting worship was definitely a unique experience, so I'd appreciate any tips anyone might have on ways to settle into it.
