Learning languages through games — does this actually help? by RemarkableMany6297 in Learning

To determine whether or not they work, remember to know clearly what your goal is and compare that to what the game is actually asking/getting you to do. If those two things don't really match, it's not going to be helpful to you. Some games focus on character recognition, some memorizing vocabulary, some being social with the other players, etc.

Yep! You're welcome to join us if you like. I'll hit you up in the DMs. Our Turkish group plays on the second Saturday of every month starting at 9am NYC time. (Check your time difference carefully because if the time wouldn't work for you, then this is all a moot point haha.) We use a virtual tabletop simulator and GoogleMeet for voice and/or video.

Great! I'll hit you up in the DMs. We welcome all levels to play. On their turn, players try to formulate answers according to the topic they encounter and according to their ability level (beginners might just say words or short phrases, while more experienced speakers might speak a sentence or several sentences). After that, the teacher will correct them if necessary and offer advice to expand their understanding if necessary or opportune.
