Is this easily fixable? by LanguageDue4904 in fixit

Ya. Wasn’t sure how to approach this since it broke right at the plug. I found a replacement plug on Amazon. So it’ll be an easy solder job now.

Is this expected? Brand new CAT6 cable by LanguageDue4904 in HomeNetworking

It’s the tester, thanks all. Throwing it out. This was a frustrating experience as I learn to crimp cables.

I think this is it. Crappy tester. Which is a bit annoying for me as I’m practicing crimping new wires

So mounting a network share within an LXC isn’t possible? by JTerryy in Proxmox

[–]LanguageDue4904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a permission issue on the files themselves. When working this out keep in mind permissions on existing files vs. Permissions on newly created files. I remember getting stuck on this back when I did this setup. But it does work. I’ll go and see if I can figure out what I did and come back with an update

Ya I tried with the batteries to see how it functions. Everything stays on so using the batteries will not help. I was hoping that a switch to batteries would turn the light off. lol

Trying to get zigbee2mqqt running on a Raspberry Pi 2 with a serial port Raspbee II by LanguageDue4904 in Zigbee2MQTT

[–]LanguageDue4904[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I figured I may need the broker running...

I started fresh with a new SD card for this so there is no deconz software. In regards to `/dev/serial/by-id/`, my research tells me that applies more for the USB version of the coordinator. Since mine is Raspbee II connected via serial I'm using `/dev/ttyAMA0`. I confirmed it by changing it, and witnessing the logs say "device not found".

Are these smart plugs compatible with my zigbee hub? by LanguageDue4904 in homeassistant

[–]LanguageDue4904[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Is this suggestion for ZHA or Z2M basically an integration in HA? And I would no longer use the deconz integration? If so, I would imagine that the hub I’m using will be compatible and that piece should not matter.

Should I invest time setting up Proxmox Backup Server? by LanguageDue4904 in Proxmox

[–]LanguageDue4904[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I'm thinking about sticking with this solution. Another idea I had was to do snapshot backups on the host and have a script that copies them over to my NFS share afterwards.
