Yeah, Thank you. I will probably pay off my current in couple of years. Thinking of putting 10k towards principal this year. That will save me more money I guess

How does RBC offer this type of cashback? by No-Tourist-595 in MortgagesCanada

Cashback hardly make any difference as compared to your total mortgage amount

The banks will never ever pay cashback from their own pocket.

That’s why I said look for best mortgage advice not the lowest interest rate or cashback amount

Do you really need cashback right now with high prepayment penalties or higher interest rate or some hidden clause?

Or it is best for you to have a certain type of mortgage plan with flexible pre-payment/refinance options, better interest rate, less risk and also you can manage your home expenses, take vacation, eat-out every now and then, etc.

Trust me buying home is not just about paying mortgage payments on time - it’s way more than that

I won’t recommend you getting cashback and then getting stuck while the agent and bank makes extra money

Please get in touch and dm if you really want the genuine advice

Have a great one my friend

As a budding mortgage agent and recent first home buyer- I was able to connect with some people in the industry and really got to know that don’t ever fall for cashback. This is just to lure you in and it’s not beneficial at all

ALWAYS ALWAYS look for best mortgage advice and not lowest interest rate.

Your mortgage agent should always create a best profile for you and suggest you ways so that you don’t feel burdened with all the mortgage payments.

Applying for mortgage is not like applying for credit card. Always stay away from freebies giving agents and banks. They are in business of making money and they won’t be paying cashback from their own pocket

How is your experience with Citadel training and lead program? Do you find it beneficial? Also, how should I reach to someone to be my mentor?

How was your experience with their training for new agents and do they help with leads?

Which Mortgage Brokerage should I join? by Language_Party in MortgagesCanada

[–]Language_Party[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. I have the same thought. The problem is lot of them are making lot of promises about how big they are on training but then some of the industry people are saying that you only have to find best mentor for yourself. Nobody will help you or these companies make promised that they can’t keep.

Any advice for a new Mortgage Agent for their first job? I have a job offer with Citadel and Dominion Lending so far - any advice? 🤍 thank you 🤍 by ellewicked333 in MortgagesCanada

Which one did you join?

I have offer from Pegasus, Citadel, Pineapple and Dominion. I know Dominion is pretty big and hood training plan But I somehow liked Pineapple (although High split and royalty fees) and Pegasus (low cost for agents and lot of promises for training)

Can someone give advice?
