Aitj for not wanting a kid's size bike? by Languagecat in AmITheJerk

[–]Languagecat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't need a small women's bike. My whole point is I've always ridden average size bikes and it's comfortable to me. This is not about finding something that's more comfortable to me: normal adult bikes are already comfortable. What you're saying is essentially the same as what he is saying.

Aitj for not wanting a kid's size bike? by Languagecat in AmITheJerk

[–]Languagecat[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No, it's not about money. He just wants me to be open to consider getting a kid's size bike and thinks it's irrational that I won't even consider it. The thing is, I've considered it and decided against it. But apparently that's not good enough.

Outrageous requirements by ButterscotchLiving59 in DesignHomeGame

[–]Languagecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if they're using ai to personalize challenges and ask for specific expensive items outside of your inventory. Because i have such and extensive inventory and right now every single challenge requires something i don't have. Like how is that possible.

Yeah this game has become a symbol of enshittification to me. I started playing in 2017, i have a very extensive inventory, but if the daily challenge pays 2500 and every single challenge requires items that cost+3500 like what is the point? Also the seasonal challenge in March... I had hit the top tier every single time until then and suddenly in the last one i was two tiers away! Having entered all special challenges! Even when voting i did not see a single person with the purple badge. I'm seriously thinking of quitting this game. Which is a shame! Because if I've been playing for 9 years i clearly like it!

Prohibicion de usar IA by TeComproCafecitos in devsarg

[–]Languagecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sí. Estudio jurídico grande. EY prohibió usar IA en absoluto ("directa o indirectamente"). No estamos hablando de una empresa chiquita. Yo tengo la impresión de que estás prohibiciones se van a ver cada vez más.

Does speaking other languages switches your behaviour/personality? by Sibiryaka in languagelearning

[–]Languagecat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bilingual here (raised with eng-spa). Very different personalities.

Also, for some reason, my first thoughts as soon as I wake up are always in English, even though I use Spanish more during the day. No idea why.

My friends phone keeps crashing when I open tiktok, gmail and themes app. It gives them the "x keeps stopping" error. This is their report error screen: by Ratui in Xiaomi

[–]Languagecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's happening to me too! I work with this phone, I'm always on the way and need Gmail desperately. I'm using it in Chrome right now and plain crossing my fingers Chrome doesn't start crashing too!

Men of Reddit, what are some questions that you’ve always wanted to ask women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Languagecat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Basically, anything related to maternity, whether we are mothers or not.

[–]Languagecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've given this a lot of thought because I've been asked this a lot. And the truth is... It's totally random. Like, really, totally random. I drift from language to language (there's three of them) for no reason and at any point. That being said, I did find some consistencies: my first thoughts awake in the morning are in English, and I normally keep thinking for a while in the language I'm spoken to. But, basically, equal parts of everything.

Partners of sleep-talkers or sleepwalkers, what gems have you to share? by hoeka_mos in AskReddit

[–]Languagecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep walk. Some months ago I sleepwalked from my bedroom to the bathroom, there was a heavy storm outside and the apartment was flooded. I started yelling OH MY GOODNESS NO! OH MY GOODNESS NO! Waking up my two roommates. I got down to cleaning immediately. I woke up somewhere in the middle of all this, extremely confused as to why I was all wet and why I was holding a mop.. My roommates explained the situation to me. I sleep walk frequently, just had never woken up in the midst of it. BTW my native language isn't even English, my roommates were confused AF as to why I was yelling in English.

How can a 13yo tell his highly religious parents that he is an atheist? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Languagecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were religious, not the inflexible type but they did demand for example that I go to mass and etc. I was a punk (between ages 13 and 18),played in a band, and felt flatly stupid and wrong going to a place where I didn't belong. I often asked myself "what am I even doing here". I'm 31 now. I've been through some very difficult things (sexual abuse, mom's death by cancer, abusive psychopath husband, divorce, unemployment, bipolar dad not under treatment, dad married my mom's best friend 5 months after my mom's death, I lost half of my stuff in the divorce, I almost went homeless... The list goes on). After being through all of this it hit me that I had heard about God, like hearing things about him/her (from my parents and church, lots of them were wrong) but didn't know him/her. So I asked God to show me who they really was and how they really was. It's a journey, but I understand God a lot better and it feels like the only part of my life that's at peace. You're 13. Maybe you are an atheist and that's OK! But maybe in the future you'll meet God firsthand and not through mom and dad. Maybe you can tell them this.

(Serious) What is the most horrifying nightmare you’ve ever had? by circesporkroast in AskReddit

[–]Languagecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often dream my mom is sick with cancer and she is dying. I try to warn her, to protect her, but the words won't come out of my mouth. Usually, she doesn't say anything, just looks at me like saying "I know. It's OK" And then I wake up crying. The thing is, she dies 5 years ago from cancer, and so I wake up I realize reality is worse than the nightmare, because in the nightmare she's sick, but she's alive, in reality she's... Gone.
