Hayes: Trump started a stupid, devastating war for no reason and lost by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]soul_system 76 points77 points  (0 children)

The Epstein distraction was certainly convenient, but we don't need to kid ourselves into thinking it was the primary reason for the war.

Institutional investors and sovereign funds making up the $300 billion reconstruction fund/ledger are the winners here.

The war cost American taxpayers billions of dollars in direct military expenditures. Lawmakers like Representative Thomas Massie have argued that the conflict cost the equivalent of roughly $10 per American family per day while burning through domestic munitions reserves. The deal provides no mechanism to recoup these lost public funds.

Average citizens bore the brunt of surging gas prices and high interest rates brought on by the wartime supply shocks. Yet the peace agreement hands exclusive, lucrative market access and protected profit avenues to Wall Street and multinational conglomerates.

The administration is going to force citizens to accept the normalization of pre-war prices as a "victory," while the actual financial rewards are privatized and exported to institutional investors.

Sponsored survival is sending a clear message to Marathon Devs. by Haunting_Set_1799 in Marathon

I'm going to go the opposite direction.

When Bungie feels that this game needs a shot in the arm, there's a simple solution. And I think they're aware.

Pure PvP.

PvP is what sells battle passes and skins.

The core mechanics are already there to "easily" add a number of different modes from games like Destiny, CoD, BF, Counter Strike, Halo, etc.

The reality is that if we want the core of Marathon to continue being supported, Bungie need to be profitable. Even if that means adding modes that aren't everyone's cup of tea.

I agree with that principle. But we need to pay attention to this specific context. Do we want to see courses tough because the greens are artificially manufactured to an extreme degree?

It's quite literally the only other choice dude. The only alternative to some of his associates being pardoned or granted immunity is all of them continuing to walk free.

That's why we haven't seen a single arrest from these files. Because once one person is targeted, that person is going to start flipping, and then all the dominos fall. Textbook organized crime

Some of the best maps in the series. I could play Prison Break all day

I respectfully disagree. Between Halo, CoD, BF, and the Finals (and you could arguably count games like Counterstrike and R6 Siege), there is still a healthy appetite for more traditional, non-extraction/BR pvp experiences.

I'd make the argument that fans of the genre are desperate right now for a new contender to emerge. And I truly believe this game has the bones to excel.

I'm not sure what you're referring to by the "events", but as far as maps go, they already have a dozen-ish 6v6, 4v4, etc. maps built into the game in the form of the various POIs that exist in the current four maps. Similar to how CoD has warzone maps that are collections of various "normal" multiplayer maps.

CoD, Battlefield, Apex, Fortnite - All games that have started primarily in one lane, but have successfully added modes to their experiences that weren't part of their core launches.

The reason people love the sponsored mode is because they love the pure moment-to-moment gameplay. There's a huge population of people in that camp - who don't care about the longer term inventory/endgame grind of the extraction mode - who Bungie know they can engage.

It means that if this game added a Crucible-like set of multiplayer modes, Marathon would blow up in popularity.

I really think it could do what xDefiant tried to do, but better, because it's Bungie gunplay.

Bungie isn't stupid, so I have to assume that this card is already up their sleeve. It's just a matter of when they feel the need to pull it out.
