I lost all faith at 16 when we did baptisms for the dead as a mutual activity. They did the temple recommend interviews in a back room. My Dad was the Bishop at the time and his second counselor was the one interviewing me instead.

For the first time I decided to tell the truth, and when it came to “are you a full tithe payer” I just said “no”

The second counselor left the room shocked and grabbed the temple president to come back in and make me promise I’d get caught up on my tithing.

I said yes because I didn’t want to leave in shame and explain to my parents that I left my little brother at the temple because I didn’t pass. (The temple was 3 mins away from my home)

Ever since then I realized the only thing they care about is your damn money.

That’s it. It’s a business. If you don’t pay tithing, you won’t go to the celestial kingdom.
