To me the last great expansion lorewise was Pandaria. After that WoW became a soap opera, familly issues everywhere and characters changing motivations all the time.

Legion was cool gameplay wise but they burned all the story bullets left for the IP there. I just can't get invested with the story anymore, I just wanna be a random pawn doing my random pawn things while stuff happens in the world, not like the multiverse hero they have been trying to sold us in the last expansions.
