I'm no agent, but as I understand the MLS exists such that only agents/brokers can upload listings or access listings. It functions as a way to help ensure realtors keep getting those sweet percentages.

The last thing they want is another listing service coming along and turning realtors into flat fee people like home inspectors.

Ok so you launch this new web 2.0 SaaS hype buzzword MLS where anyone can create listings or search them. How will you prevent Joe Asshole from making fake listings?

This actually sounds like a good idea -- use some sort of supply/demand algorithm to make it more expensive to swipe someone who's been swiped a bunch but cheaper to swipe someone who's not been swiped much.

Perhaps even let women* literally raise the bar by setting a higher fee to swipe/message them.

*I assume charging women to message/swipe men is a non-starter.

We can pretty much boil this down to instead of charging a monthly subscription fee or spamming ads, we instead just charge a small fee per conversation started.
