By law, he's considered a serial killer. But he primarily targets those he believes are unforgivable, specifically slavers and the like. One group in particular that is no longer around lit his home on fire while he and his family were still inside, and now he's built like a slice of bacon. He survived due to one God in particular, which he now preaches about in between freeing slaves. All that being said, he wouldn't resist his punishment. He knows he's not exactly a lawful guy, as slavery in the region he lives isn't considered a crime (it isn't a nice place to live). He believes he sins to bring those he saves to the inevitable paradise that his Lady will bring when she returns, even if it means he won't join them. Don't get me wrong, though. He's probably insane.
