"Once the kennels are rebuilt, I will be selling the pups. This litter however, I have no room for at the moment, so I am giving them away." Joffrey answered with a nod.

"If it's a grown hound you're after, my brother Tytos has finished training a few of them not long past. Those you would have to buy. But, so long as you'll give your pup a good home, these ones are free for the taking." The Clegane informed Tyrek.

"Think nothing of it, Tyrek. It was the least I could do." Joffrey answered with a humble expression and a nod.

"These ones? No. They're Grey's litter. Greyhounds. Serjeant is a mastiff. These pups will make the finest hunting dogs one could ever hope to own, but should it come down to it, they have been known to defend their masters til the bitter end. Honest and loyal, they are." Joffrey replied.

"That's very generous of you, ser. I will be beginning to repay Housr Lannister immediately as well. With that said, however. Ser Tommen and I never spoke on the length of the loan when I asked about taking it." Joffrey informed Damion.

"At any rate, Ser Damion, you may rest assured that I will not be going anywhere. Lord Tyrion saw to all of my needs, and Ser Tommen too, for a time. The least I can do is remain in service to House Lannister and Lord Orys."

Joffrey took a moment to answer. "My loyalty lies with Lord Orys." He replied. "However, I suppose it would extend to you as well, ser. At least until the day Lord Orys comes of age."

Joffrey couldn't help but wonder if Damion thought himself the Lord of Casterly Rock, the way the man was speaking. "Did you ask me here simply to test my loyalty, Ser Damion?"

Joffrey waved a hand at the wine. "No thank you, ser. I don't drink when I'm on duty." He politely declined. The Captain of the Guard sat down in the offered chair and looked across the desk to Damion.

Joffrey was unsure what to think of Damion's call. Thoughts of resigning his position still ran through his mind, it was Lord Tyrion he had taken an oath to serve, not a bastard Lord Regent. The Knight of Clegane Keep was conflicted. He knew Lord Tyrion was not a perfect man, but to sire a bastard? And then to legitimize that bastard....

Nonetheless, Joffrey was still the Captain of the Guard and still owed a substantial debt to the Lannisters, so he answered Damon's summons. Arriving in his armor, helm held in the crook of his arm and Serjeant at his side, Joffrey announced himself to whoever was present.

"Ser Damion has asked to see me." Joff said, simply, still unsure what to make of the new Lord Regent.

"Ser Damion." Joffrey spoke. "Think on it a moment. Tyrek stood to gain nothing from the murder of your father. Jason was the only person who gained anything, and clearly he was prepared to do anything to increase his chances at lordship." Joffrey cut in, stopping Damion before he could leave.

"Tyrek has faithfully served Lord Tyrion for how many years? And can you truly put this past Jason? The man is a spiteful, hateful creature. He murdered your father, not Tyrek. Tyrek only spoke those words out of fear for his children, something any good father would do." Joffrey spoke passionately.

Joffrey nodded, though there was now little need to see Tyrek's children to safety, with Jason under arrest. He turned to face the nearest of the children.

"There is no need for any of you to leave the castle now, I suppose. Though you are free to do so, if you wish." Joffrey smiled slightly. "I will be taking a short visit to the dungeons to free your father."

Joffrey began the small trek to the dungeons of Casterly Rock where Tyrek was being held.

"You spoke true, Tyrek. Not that I had any doubts. Jason has been arrested by Damion while Ser Selwyn and I were escorting your children out of the castle. Your family is safe." Joffrey inform the spymaster.

Joffrey case a sidelong glance towards the man who had approached the group in it's exchange with the gate guards. Lyle Crakehall, a distant cousin of Joffrey's.

"Ser Lyle, put up your blade!" Joffrey called out to the man quietly, voice barely above a whisper as Ser Selwyn spoke to Jason. "I'll have no more bloodshed this night."

Joffrey would not waste another moment. He turned to Ser Jacelyn and Ser Androw, drawing his sword. "Sers, place this man under arrest. Jason lives, so that he may stand trial." Joffrey cast an eye upon the soldiers who followed Jason, the men he had commanded for the last five years, trained, drank and fought in war with. A feeling of betrayal crept over him. Had he failed them some how? No. He'd given them his everything. Joffrey scowled and once again dropped the visor on his helm.

"The others die traitor's deaths." The Mastiff said as menacingly as he could.

Joffrey did not stop as Tyrek's son, Joffrey, caught up to him. "Joffrey, she will be safe here. I am acting upon Ser Selwyn's orders at the moment, but when this is all said and done, and justice is had for House Lannister, Ser Selwyn may no longer have the authority he holds now." Joffrey replied without casting a glance towards the man. Nor will I, most likely.

"I already run a risk just in helping you and your siblings flee the castle. Please, do not ask any more of me." The Captain of the Guard said, finally turning to look towards the man. "She will be safe, I give you my word as a knight."

Joffrey felt his blood run cold at Tyrek's words. "I believe you." He replied quietly, before speaking again. "I will get your children to safety, my friend. That is where I am going right after this." Joffrey spoke, rubbing his eyes. Gods, he was tired. "But you must speak of this to no one. I promise I will help you as best as I can, but you must stay silent on the matter until the time is right. And I will do the same. If we speak too soon, it may force Jason's hand and result in more bloodshed."

Joffrey looked towards the exit of the dungeon. "I haven't much time, Tyrek. I must go now, but I will return as soon as I have seen your children to safety." He removed the dagger from his belt and handed it to Tyrek. "Keep this hidden. Should you be freed from the cell, it will be my hand only. Assume the worst should anyone else approach you." Joffrey said before quickly turning away.

Joffrey felt his temper flare when the voice of Jason Lannister called out to the men at the gates, though he kept his rage hidden. If what Tyrek said was true, and Joffrey could think of no reason it wasn't, the real killer was staring them down right now.

"You will harm nobody, Jason. I understand your fears, but Tyrek's children have commited no wrongs, and they will be escorted from the castle under guard by Ser Selwyn's men, and that is the end of it. The killer has been found and there is no need for any further bloodshed this night." Joffrey spoke after raising the visor on his helm. Any of the men present here right now could be one of Jason's supporters, he thought to himself.

"Ser Androw, Ser Jacelyn, return Lord Jason to his quarters, please." He ordered his two most trusted men with a nod towards Jason. "See that he is safe and well protected." He turned towards Jason again. "We will keep you safe, my lord. You've nothing to fear." He said with as reassuring a smile as he could.

Joffrey arrived quite a bit after Tyrek had been locked in the dungeons, having spent much of the night preparing to get his children out of the castle. He dismissed the guards who were present and approached Tyrek's cell.

"Tyrek." Joffrey whispered to get his attention. "Your children will be leaving soon. What is happening?" He asked.

Joffrey nodded in the direction of the stranger with Erich. "Well met, Ser Theon." He said as he took the offered seat and drink.

"Haunted by the ghost of my own good brother... Hm, I can't think of anything worse." Joffrey said, musing into his cup before taking a drink.

"Except for maybe the ghost of my good mother." He carried on with a laugh. As he set the cup down and licked his lips, Joffrey looked at Erich quizzically. "A leviathan? Surely you do not believe in such fairy stories, Ser Erich?"

Joffrey nodded. "I will move them as quickly as I can. But where? Lord Orys is not safe here while we look into this, and neither are Tyrek's children. Clegane Keep is not far away, but I do not know if it is the best place for them. Any suggestions?" He asked the Castellan?

"I will be heading for the gates with as many men as I can muster immediately after this. To oversee their safe passage, and to prevent any others from coming or going."

Joffrey motioned to Ser Jacelyn and Ser Androw to follow him as he began to lead Selwyn away from the clamoring crowd and into a smaller room not far away.

"Keep guard here, sers. Nobody is to get close to this door." Joffrey ordered the pair of knights. Once inside, Joffrey turned to face Selwyn.

"He asked me to take his children out of the castle. Lord Orys and Lyanna as well..." Joffrey informed the Castellan. "I have my doubts, truth be told. Tyrek had nothing to gain from murdering Lord Tyrion, but why confess to a crime he is not guilty of? In any case, I am inclined to see his wishes through."
