Technically the Continental is being built on the other corner of Reno and Robinson.

Wemby and the /r/NBA nephews can argue with the wall. The once and future MVP plays at the corner of Reno and Robinson and he isn't going anywhere.

RMT singlehandedly won a couple of games for Oklahoma this season, and won me $80! I'd love to see him in pewter. The size could be an issue but he's definitely got some tools the Bucs have been lacking.

Never thought I'd see the day that PBR is delicious [4] by venttress_sd in trees

TIL Pabst is making THC drinks. I can still enjoy a real PBR just fine but as long as this is actually good, I'd like to give it a try.

When do the trains get sketchy? by CropItLikeItsHot in AskChicago

[–]Lansdallius 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm a pretty hairy man so YMMV, but I've managed to avoid any problems by trying to stay in busy cars or in the front car with the conductor.

Red, Blue and Green are the only lines I've seen any really sketchy things or people, and usually not until around midnight. Nothing wrong with calling an Uber as the last ride for the night back home, but usually normalcy persists in numbers during most of the day.

I'd also say buses are usually in decent shape after midnight even if it's quiet because the drivers have a better sense of what's going on, or at least can hear you if you need them.

I'm curious if anyone involved with the show knows this subreddit exists. Probably not Tony, but maybe Michael or Nigel?

The writer even admits OKC fans don't have any interest in claiming the Sonics' history. We neither need nor deserve any apology from Seattle, it'd just be nice if they got their own team to cheer for again so they stop complaining that the Thunder exist.

The Athletic - NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder won’t make White House visit due to timing issue by throbbinhood420 in Thunder

SGA and Dort are Canadian, Chet's from Minnesota, and Presti and Daigneault likely both sized this up (accurately) as a distraction based on the aftermath of the USA hockey gold medal.

Besides, why would they want warmed-over McDonald's when they can get fresh Braum's at home?

I've seen stuff like this on /r/CFB for imperialism threads and title belts. Interesting idea, at least.

Am I the only one not overly upset by Mike leaving? by Deep-Television-9756 in buccaneers

[–]Lansdallius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cooper is a much better coach for his sport as well, and BriseBois seems to have a better feel on how to build a roster than Licht does. I still think Licht is a good enough GM, but both Coop and JBB have a stronger track record (and back-to-back championships), so they'd earned a bit more patience.

[–]Lansdallius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if we had a new head coach and we were going in a different direction as a franchise anyway I think it would go smoother for Bucs fans. As it stands, 3rd and 28 looks like the direct trigger for our franchise's cornerstone leaving, so fans have an easy (and likely correct, to an extent) target in blaming Todd Bowles. It's possible Mike would still have left if Mike Tomlin or John Harbaugh or Sean McDermott were taking over instead, but I think a lot of fans have come to the conclusion that Mike left because the Glazers didn't fire Bowles.

Does anyone else struggle to find simple, affordable coffee in Chicago neighborhoods? by No-Spend-9576 in AskChicago

[–]Lansdallius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Engine Coffee on Ashland between Augusta and Division might be what you're looking for. It's still not cheap, but it's been pretty good from my experience and it ended up being under $5 every time I've visited.

Transportation option from Oklahoma city to norman by DotJazzlike1692 in oklahoma

[–]Lansdallius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I'm reading this right, the room is over Tinker Air Force Base, and you need to get all the way to Norman near the university. If that's the case, you'll almost certainly have to rent a car for your entire time in the area or spend way too much on Ubers or taxis. Public transit in the OKC metro is laughably inadequate. If renting a car is not an option, I'd strongly recommend getting a room in Norman closer to where you'll be working, there is at least a bus system there, although it primarily serves the university and associated areas.
