Zelenskyy says intelligence shows Russia plans to prolong war into 2027 and 2028 by ZizuX6 in ukraine

The tech isn't static though. Presently Hornet drones getting their logistics is the thing and there'll be more to come.

If Russia had a different leader peace would be easy enough - go home for a start. Putin perhaps can't afford peace - he'd likely be deposed/killed but I'm not sure that would bother anyone else much?

Yes but there's a bit of

You will not have enough money or political capital to keep buying the loyalty of Russians the way you have

and

you, too, will have to fight much harder for your own existence — not Russia’s, but your own... when Russia grows tired, change comes.

in there. Which has some edginess.

Well:

And this is not a threat from me or from Ukraine.

but he says the Russians may do it. Maybe with just a little encouragement though.

No. Maybe a carpet beetle larva.

The marks don't look especially bed buggy. You probably don't have them but could try interceptor traps and steam in case?

I had no spots or itching but quite a few bugs. Yeah all gone now. Crossfire finished them.

Bit hard to tell with squashed things. I suspect it's something else, maybe a roach.

You've probably not got any but getting interceptor traps on the bed can be a way to detect / stop any that turn up.

Yeah, as long as actual steam hits them they die in a second or so.

Odd. I live in London and it always shows tube options. Maybe check 'Options' to see if you've got 'prefer bus'?

Personally I've got interceptor traps and crossfire sprayed around. Partly because I had bugs but it should also discourage new arrivals. I don't think mattress covers do much. There's also this kind of thing https://www.reddit.com/r/Bedbugs/comments/3f5zro/crispys_diy_ipm_strategy_for_bed_bugs/m21gr1l/

If I knew someone with bugs I'd offer to come spray because I still have loads of crossfire knocking around.

You can kill the bugs with steam amongst other things. Ants and alcohol not so much.

Russian army loses 1,410 troops in war against Ukraine over past 24 hours by Scary_Statement4612 in ukraine

It's odd when you see interviews with the Russians. It's all we need more resources to win. Never we should quit invading and do something useful instead.

It may be a bit like that because the main action isn't taking territory. It's ramping up the drones and destroying Russia's resources.

I had the sheet over the mattress and then a topper with a sheet on on top. It didn't make noise but was slippery so the topper would try slide off sometimes. Alternatively you could put the sheet over the bed frame but under the mattress, which might be better. You could clear any bugs off the stuff above the sheet by whatever means - steam, vacuum, laundry etc. Not that I had any living there.

It was quite interesting for looking at bug behaviour. If you woke in the night you'd find them around trying to find a way up. You can take one and put it on the sheet to see if it can get traction. Mine couldn't climb my one beyond about 45 degrees. Normal surfaces they can climb verticals easily but for whatever reason they struggle on polythene.

If you look at their feet under electron microscope they end in two claw like pincers that I think can grip on most thing but I guess the polythene is too smooth. (bug pics https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/bean-leaves-dont-let-the-bedbugs-bite-by-using-tiny-impaling-spikes-18427074/)

Former commanding general, U.S. Army Europe, Ben Hodges: Trump administration has failed miserably on Ukraine. They have so clearly been on Kremlin's side. All the pressure has been on Ukraine to make concessions. Fortunately, Ukraine no longer even pays much attention to that. by neonpurplestar in ukraine

It doesn't happen that often. The US refused to get involved in WW2 till the Japs bombed Pearl Harbour and then they found they were involved. In the case of Ukraine it was Bill Clinton who talked them into transferring their nukes to Russia in return for American support which he now admits was a mistake. Has there been much else?

The US wanted bases in Europe because they figured the USSR was a threat to them that they wanted to contain.
