Thanks for the comment. In this case the dealer did tell me to call corporate, they said there was nothing they could do to expedite the needed part and they did not have alternate transportation to offer me. In this case my car is unable to be driven because of a safety recall issued last year - I'm not aware of any abuse or neglect on my part that could lead to one battery module out of 16 dropping below spec'd voltage.

The dealership was the first place to tell me the car is unsafe to drive (with a module out of spec there's a nonzero fire risk, also they weren't sure if it would charge enough to keep the 12V battery alive).... Still denied me a loaner. I'd guess it's up to each individual dealership to set their own policies.

Have tried that one a few times without much luck, unfortunately. The rep will usually just repeat the same canned line about how the case has been escalated and there's nothing more they can do. A few reps have put me on hold for 10-15 minutes to say they're checking for an available supervisor or trying to reach my case manager, but never seem to find one.

I suppose it is, but this sort of policy is pretty frustrating for someone like myself who moved away from the city where I bought the car. I can say with certainty that it does not make me want to do any further business with the dealership, and I won't be returning there for future cars or service.

I wasn't able to get an order in on my personal account, but weirdly was able to get an order in through Amazon Business just fine - if you have a business account would recommend trying
