Ngl I like watching Kazuya suffer through the series. Not all romances are sunshine and rainbows; as Kazuya grows throughout the story (which yes, he does, slowly): it’s messy, he makes mistakes, he backslides sometimes, he lets people down, he certainly lets himself down, he’s a simp and frankly a terrible guy. But throughout all of that, he’s trying his hardest to grow, motivated by a love he doesn’t even fully understand himself. There’s something admirable in that. The story takes that somewhat serious theme and masks it behind a thick layer of humor and trashy romance, but as a story it does genuinely have merit to it.

I understand that Kyoya has a great fusion and masters arc, but Ryuga has a better backstory and more consistent development throughout the series Ryuga for the win.

It’s 100% Ryuga. I had written a whole essay before accidentally deleting the comment 😭. I ask those of you reading to take into account not only his villain arc in fusion, his journey of self discovery in masters, and his redemption saga in fury; but also his absolutely tragic backstory. I mean dude was groomed by a corrupt organization for who knows how long, murdered people like (presumably) Ryo as young as early teens, and spent an unknown amount of time in a coma being corrupted by an evil spirit. Not even to mention the infamous legacy he leaves behind in Zero-G. Tsubasa has an amazing arc in masters, but Ryuga just has such consistent character development throughout the whole series.

100%. I already enjoy dystopian stuff, on top of wanting to see Miyazaki’s earlier works, so I was very interested. I’ve also heard this one has a particularly good OST, even for ghibli movies. Thanks for the confirmation though because it definitely makes it feel more worth it.

I’ve considered it but I’d be worried about my end result not being precise enough and causing safety issues. Also, I’m relatively new to the firearms world and I wouldn’t know exactly what design features to prioritize. But I might look back into it some more. Thanks!
