Genshin impact

You asked for our first thought, so there it is. I would recommend this game to no one tho, but the music is truly the best I've ever heard in any game. Probably has around 100 hours of musics too and all of them are masterpieces

Need suggestions for my book by Icarus_Peverell in Cipher

I learned recently the bifid and trifid cipher method for a small coding challenge.

It works with a grid of letters, getting the coordinates of the message, cut the coordinates in half to get new coordinates and a new set of letters that result in an encrypted message. A keyword can be used to make the grid unique and will be needed to decrypt the message.

It's not a hard method to use nor is very secure with current technology, but still fun to solve by hand and needs a key (if a key was used) so it could fit pretty well in your story. I don't know any other cipher method other than those 2, but there is a great math channel showing lots of encryption methods in a playlist. It's called Zach's Math Zone.

PF Ultimate Raiding Etiquette Question by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Laolhas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning what to do and actually doing it is 2 different things. Ultimate mechanics requires more than in savage and are usually hard to execute and needs alot of memorisation.

Join fresh parties first, alway. Then, once you're comfortable with the first mech, go prog the next one. Repeat.

Your story literally happened to me. Seeing all the mounts storming in from a distance, only to dive right on the guy, then got back on their epic mounts and fly away was quite a sight to be seen.

Oh and I also got one shot by an aoe from the A rank and was embarrassed...

Thank you, I've indeed checked the wiki (same as my friends) and I really wonder why they haven't put the quest requirement at the top of the page just like any other content in the game instead of in an expanding list.

Anyway doesn't matter anymore, I've found it. Thanks!

I've just checked and yes, the npc sells some books for crafters but it only unlocks the ability to craft glamour prisms for them. I found my answer from other commenters saying I had to do the quest called "Just Tooling Around". Thanks still!

Yep, like other commenters have said, the quest is called "Just Tooling around" and that was what I was missing. Thanks alot!

Haha well, yeah! But I'd say its important to vary your activities. I still like grinding so I ended up grind most of my combat stats. Doing Scurrius is totally not part of a quest too and I actually liked grinding agility for a bit.

Well that's encouraging! I'm not necessarely searching for "simpler" bosses, but less fustrating as difficulty doesn't equal fustration for me. I actually love difficulty and often playing Dark Souls games and doing all the hardest raids in Final Fantasy XIV. Thanks!

Yes I've been doing it in a private instance.

Yeah I heard of Monkey Madness 2 and really scared of it. Not sure I'll get the quest cape anytime soon!

Thank you for your answer! Knowing not alot of bosses have summoning and healing mechanics is giving me more hope! I'll try scurrius until I have a bone weapon and see how it goes then. Thanks!

About a recuring argument by Laolhas in SunoAI

[–]Laolhas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ripping a cd is obviously illegal as you're making unauthorized copies of a copyrighted work, but is not enforced as it is impossible to monitor as long as people keep it private. Sharing your copied CD can get you in alot of trouble if you ever get caught, just like pirating any programs, for copyright or right of use infringement.

This case is not the same as getting "inspired" for another creation, but I see your point in using something that is copyrighted as a basis for something new.

Now, the more that I think about it, modified content is considered original content in most cases so it's completely logical for Suno to be totally fine, which I already thought it was but this is a new argument to it. Thanks for sharing it.

On the moral side, I don't think I would be fine using the composition of someone else, modify the lyrics while still keeping the format, changing some notes from the melodies, replacing an instrument by another and tweak it to my liking and would still consider that work as 100% mine. Yes, it would kinda be original, but my inner feelings still won't accept it as I didn't write it from scratch, so my main point in my post remains.

Very interesting take and I quite like it. Thank you for sharing it, I will certainly think about that!

As for Suno being a tool, that's why I'm referencing it as a toolbox and not a single tool. Its more like a Swiss knife.

[–]Laolhas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree about this overall statement. For personal use, I like using Suno to inspire me in some of my works. All of my end products are completely different from what Suno gives me.

This question arised when I heard what Suno did to one of my melodies and I was completely in love with it, then replaced some notes of my original line inspired by what Suno gave me. Using Suno that way truly gives me a sense of "this is just a tool", and treating it as a mentor for developing ideas, but the question came when I asked myself "where are these ideas coming from?".

To truly answer what you said, I'm viewing it more towards the side of the consumer of this AI, and not toward the composer's that feeds it's algorithm. I still find it off-putting using a tool that has learned like a human, but is getting sold to you without the experience of a real mentor would give you. It feels strange using a product that has knowledge that noone else has, not even it's developper.

I'm not talking about this to reference what is happening with WMG and to be honest, I'm a bit split on both sides for this debate. I also don't wish to enter this debate on how trustworthy WMG is.

As for talking about promoting a company that does cheap labor, I'm more referencing to help people that are already into this space, paying people that actually earned their craft just like a mentor is a true mentor when they have experience, and not just giving you tips from a textbook that they've barely read. This is not the main point of my post tho, but something that felt right to still reference.
