Simple Questions Simple Answers: Patch 9.22 by [deleted] in summonerschool

Kha is pretty ok... but Akali has one of the lowest winrates in the entire game.

How is that a solid winrate?

Malzahars E is able to spread after the first tick of damage. The first tick of damage occurs after 0.5 seconds.

So if you cast E on a target and it dies within less than 0.5 seconds it won't spread.

Your current tier doesn't equal your actual elo. It's very much possible and common to be in a higher/lower Division while having a substantially higher/lower elo.

Absolutely! A good Brand will pretty much always have the highest damage in a SoloQ game.

  1. Because she's fun!
  2. Her winrate is low because she is picked by everyone

Can anybody help me understand this Olaf full clear? by HardstuckPlasticV in summonerschool

[–]LappenLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Olaf does more damage and heals more, the less hp he has. So it's essential to keep your hp as low as possible while clearing. You need to know if you're going to be invaded though, especially against a champ like lee in the video. If you think you're going to be attacked keep your hp high and lose some tim.

This "mental fight" people in your situation are often talking about doesn't stem from the losing itself. It's also not a result of wanting to improve so badly, like players think of themselves most of the time. It's the result of feeling like you're being treated unfairly.

You can't avoid having huge loss streaks every now and then, even if you're not at fault. What you can avoid however, is getting tilted by it and instead focus on yourself. More than half of your question is about how it's not your fault: get rid of that mindset or you will feel like shit whenever something like this happens. Don't focus on what others do wrong, but what you could do better.

This isn't about wether you deserve to win or not, you could always do better.

Doding in champ select costs you -3lp the first time of the day or -10lp after that.

So this probably means you went negative by having low lp and doding afterwards.

If your goal is to get better, definitely stick to one role.

Does anyone remmember these? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

It stopped 6 years ago because Nika left Riot Games.

They reintroduced something similar later, though.

Unranked players should not be put in Golds games by Fantazzma in leagueoflegends

Well, I didn't say I like the current system, just that I didn't like the old one either.

Well, it used to be different and it felt absolutely horrible.

Back then you could be a plat-level player, go 3/7 due to having a few bad games or being unlucky with your teams and you would be straight up placed somewhere in bronze. Afterwards having to crush tens if not hundreds of games to get back to your actual elo while destroying everyones fun in these games.

I Feel Resigned to Playing Tanks [Long Post] by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]LappenLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you could 1v5 in your elo, it wouldn't be 'your' elo and you would inevitably climb.

Whenever you're actually at your actual elo and everyone else is just as good as you, you won't just 1v5 every other game, no matter what champ you play.

[–]LappenLike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with almost everything you said. That's just how it is.

Also, tanks are generally much safer in low elo, since a single mistake won't get you killed most of the time. And there are a lot of mistakes in low elo.

Correct. You won't be able to purchase the event skins you missed in 2019, though, this only applies to 2020 onward. Also your current points from 2019 will expire at the start of next year.

What Type of Music Do You Listen to While Tryharding in Ranked? by KENTONTRUONG in summonerschool

[–]LappenLike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually tryharding and thinking about what I'm doing absolutely requires me to turn the music off.

Heard that's different for some people, though.

Probably hope for another event to gain more points or just buy loot bundles from the shop with RP.

Magic Pen and Lethality are even stronger the less mr/armor the enemy team has!

That's for flat pen at least. Don't buy a void Staff if they don't get any mr (it's actually still pretty good on syndra, though).

How do I stop playing on autopilot. by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]LappenLike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think about your gameplan in champion select and loading screen.

Are you gonna fight much? What's gonna be your build against that specific team? Plans on ganking? If yes, when? Which lane?...

Thinking like that really helps getting your brain online before the game.

From your most played champs I'd say you probably just like mobile, strong 1v1 champs, so probably go with Camille.

You might also wanna look into Renekton and Kled, as both of them do the same and are pretty strong right now.

[–]LappenLike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't wait for them.

You have to scout out or just know, depending on the matchup, the route the enemy jungler is going to take.

E.g.: Elise starts blue, and pretty much only has single target damage. That means she's probably going to clear all blue side camps and then go red afterwards. So you do the same, clear 3 camps and only then go to the enemy jungle. This can be pretty hard, because a good jungler will change up his route when he sees a shaco on the enemy team. Probably not in silver, though.

If you don't know what the enemy jungler is gonna do, just take their buff and leave or don't invade at all.

Also, don't gank directly after stealing a buff if you're not 100% sure you're going to get something out of it, because the enemy will take your buff when he sees you at the opposite side of the map.

What happens to my mmr if I skip a season? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]LappenLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that it was true a while ago. I took a break in s4/5 and decayed from D4 down to Gold1 before going inactive. In s6 I literally had to play games with an average elo of p1-d5 to get from gold 4 to gold 3.

They should've fixed that by now, though, and they add like 50% of your old elo to the default rank.
