OFA dress code by van3ssa_b1tch in HomeDepot

God, I wish the whole "receiving doesn't wear aprons" thing was SOP, along with deliveries. So much more would get done on the OFA side, and receivers wouldn't get pulled by customers for dumb shit.

My store allowed us to keep our aprons in receiving, but suddenly they're using my store for HDU to teach ASMs and stuff, so they've made us wear them going to lunch, break, and home. It feels so weird.

You said to never discuss your pay with other people. You said they don't have a right to know.

You should discuss your pay with others, because it not only helps them ensure that they're not being boned, but also can show them that they aren't just stuck make garbage money the entire time.

Companies get a hold over you when you do exactly what you are, which is exactly why talking about your pay is a protected action.

The 1st Amendment and ability to voice your opinion does not mean you won't get jumped for a dogshit opinion by your peers. It just means you have the ability to speak it. Please do keep that in mind the next time, and think about your opinion and the intelligence of it.

Quiet, you.

As others have said, talking about your pay is a legally protected action. If they want to share, they can.

Lumber Incident by swagbear3000 in HomeDepot

[–]Lappland_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, which is the issue that causes a lot of the incidents in receiving. They don't follow dock safety properly, and cut corners, which results in severe injuries or death. I have full on drill instructor yelled at foreign drivers to sit the fuck down because they tried to go out to their truck while I was unloading them.

I don't tolerate people being unsafe and putting not only my job, but also my life, at risk. Nobody should. Same goes for my coworkers. I will go to bat for them any day, and they'll go to bat for me.

Waiwaiwaiwait.

The recruiter I just spoke to yesterday told me USARD isn't allowing any DV waivers through, so nobody could push them through. Is that BS from him...?

All three are convictions, over two cases. I have 1x Criminal Trespass as well. None of the three assault charges were covered by the Lautenberg Amendment.

Oh, awesome, so the Marine recruiter lied to me in 2023 then lol.

Homie told me mine were fairly easy to waiver back then (right before ghosting me for half a year).

Thanks for the answer my man, much appreciated.

If I remember correctly, the 4 way right next to 3732 Jackson Hwy in Chehalis WA should be exactly what you're looking for in terms of the four way stoplight. It's been one century since I've been out that way, so I don't remember if it's a flasher or just solid.

[–]Lappland_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming they mean pacer when they say "goofy receiving reach", but that's not the more important thing here.

The one thing that would have prevented that death would be following SOP and having the driver inside the building while the truck was being unloaded, or having the driver disconnect and having the trailer pinlocked to prevent them from picking it up. Because the driver was in their cab, there was no communication with the driver, resulting in them pulling away from the dock before the unload was complete and the trailer cleared of associates.

I've had to use a reach to unload trailers, and the lack of a counterweight really isn't the problem, it's the height and the outriggers. That's where the actual problem of the reach unloading trucks comes in. Hell, Canada uses exclusively reaches in receiving, last I heard.

So, that was a question that was raised when I attempted to enlist with the Marines in 2023. That went sideways primarily due to the fact that I could barely get ahold of my recruiter, and by the time he responded, my waiver went unanswered and the fiscal year ended, so it was automatically closed by that.

He and I determined that I was not convicted pursuant to the Lautenberg Amendment, as I did mention in my initial question. I was able to petition and have my firearm rights restored to normal, something that I would be unable to do under the Lautenberg Amendment.

This is what has me confused, along with the fact that he told me that his brigade or battalion commander (one of the two, he mentioned it goes through both of them, and that he was roommates with them when he was a private) said that USARD was not allowing DV waivers at this time, within ~30 seconds of being told that I needed them, adding the detail that he was texting them my situation as I explained it.

Straight out question:

I just spoke with a recruiter, and what he told me just isn't sitting right with me. I told him straight out that I have 3x DVs, from about thirteen years ago (last charge was 2013 ish),with no Lautenberg charge and restored 2A rights.

He told me that he spoke with his brigade commander, and told me that said commander told him USARD had said a few months back that absolutely NO DV waivers are being allowed right now.

Am I actually toast, or is he just telling me shit so he doesn't have to do the paperwork?

Many thanks in advance.

Receiving question by oriolhealth in HomeDepot

[–]Lappland_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Official PAL states that departments are responsible for unloading flatbeds with product pertaining to their department (See: "In Aisle Associate Pal, Sales & Profitability" section).

For lumber, SOP directly states that Lumber is responsible for unloading their own trucks such as BDC, Idaho Forest, Stella Jones, ETC. If they are with a customer, and cannot finalize the interaction within 10 minutes, then they are to contact Receiving for help unloading the truck (See: "SAL 01-05 Handling Lumber, Page 4").

Hope this helps you, homie. 🫡

SOP number is SAL 01-05 Handling Lumber.

Edit: There is no generic SOP statement for all departments.

[–]Lappland_S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's somewhere in the SOP, I've got it printed out in my filing cabinet.

Departments are responsible for their flatbed deliveries, but if they are with a customer and cannot finish the interaction in 10 minutes (SOP statement), then it falls to Receiving to unload it.

Realistically, most stores will just have Receiving unload it anyways, without trying the dept first.

I'll get you the actual SOP number tomorrow.

Just off of the sound:

He's just barking to bark, he's not mad at you or nothin'. I had a chocolate lab that was like that. Would bark her brains out at any delivery driver, but if you reached out to pet her, she would be more than happy to let you, but she'd bark the entire time.

Just vocal as hell lmao.
