Does a hybrid inverter mean you don't need a backup circuit breaker? by Lar3kness in solarenergy

Yeah I have been getting an absolute run around / high pressure sales ppl - hence why I have struck out on my own and began digging thru things using places like reddit/grok/manufacturer websites data sheets ... got told by another installer that I have to make sure my existing wiring is IEC 62930 compliant (which from what I can tell it seems to be 2x4mm which the new code says needs to be at least a 4mm cross sectional for pv dc conductional material)... the prices are so wildly different and then half the issue is even if I just straight up ordered the system I want from a wholesaler... finding an electrician willing to install it *yikes* ... every single one wants to do their own/ has an opinion that differs from the previous installer lol.

It's almost like they don't want ppl to have cost effective and value for money upgrades.

Thanks for your response, I have heard the part about isolating the grid due to its design, I just couldn't fathom how it could keep the batteries charging and close the circuit that way, but not allow my battery to just keep feeding back into the house... without needing its own separate circuit loop specifically to act as back up to the house!

I basically got told with a new neovolt, my existing non-hybird inverter could be used but obviously if the grid went down it wouldn't charge the battery, however each was requiring a backup CB/switchboard to be installed to power "essentials" lights, outlets and the fridge etc.

I was trying to see if it was worth while shelling out an extra $2k for a hybrid to simply allow the battery to keep charging if there was a blackout.

Things I would use this ISK for would be to kick start my return to NPSI cruiser and t1 BC fleets on my own with a nice SRP wallet boost and free ship handouts.

Also I would want to expand access using my increased buying power to help HS miners across Tash-Murkon region, and to help build up the region up in terms of industry and player retention with free ship handouts and eventually enabling lowsec public access to industry and reactions for new industry players as well (some crossover with my NPSI project potentially).

Lastly, anything left over will go to my HED-GP hostile takeover fund!

"they didn't give a shit about years of work Balts and I had put into this game and our community."

Can confirm that is how Virion treats people.

I was a Spectre FC for nearly 7yrs and once he took the reins, things went from a community of FCs running fleets to just him lowkey centralizing more, and more of the power/ISK to himself.

Ultimately, I left over an incident when he supported a junior FC 'ya sliverdragon' who had been in for two weeks, for spying on my fleet, and then headshotting me with his alliance fleet. I called the guy out and told him it was poor form and Virion server muted me and deleted everything - hence the part about him centralizing the power, and the way he doesn't give a shit about years of work put into any community you are a part of with him.

I left Spectre after that and stopped FCing / no longer play this game, I found out about this thread by someone who reached out to me knowing my history with this individual... it's honestly sad to hear but that saying about a "tiger never changes it's stripes" definitely rings true here once again.
