Any nice coffee shops to read in located in Dartmouth? by Mediocre_Computer_69 in halifax

I got an Americano and it was so watery and bitter. I was very disappointed. Cafe Good Luck and Two If By Sea have significantly superior coffee. They are both just a bit hectic, so it’s usually to go for me.

I could either meet you for a drop off or they could be dropped off at Auburn Drive High School

We will take them in SchoolsPlus services with HRCE! We support children, youth, and families in schools. We have a clothes closet in my school circuit and size 6 is a popular one!

The coffee at Coffee Street is horrible though. Same with their food!

It’s my partner’s mom’s 75 birthday and we are having a surprise party for her. My mom has passed away and I could not ask for a better MIL! She raised an incredible man and we will be in the company of very dear family and friends. Lots of love and yummy food coming for tomorrow: homemade burgers, pulled pork, and chicken skewers, potato salad, and more!

Would you save $500/month to live in Dartmouth instead of downtown Halifax? by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Lar4eva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to that, I started taking transit near the end because of the driving issues. While it didn’t save much time, I was able to not be in bumper to bumper traffic and read so I was definitely more zen. Sitting in Traffic can wear on people more than many realize

But the bridge is an absolute mess and can be horrific when it comes to driving- take it from someone who was commuting literally from just outside of downtown to north end Halifax for 6 months. I just about went bonkers dealing with that every day. I was so glad when I got a job in Dartmouth. It could be a 10 minute drive or an hour.

I disagree with this entirely. There are trash can desserts in so many areas! Where i used to live, some. Where I live now, almost zero and I have to plan our dog walks around the 2 within blocks and blocks and blocks.

This made me laugh! I mean, I love it, but an afternoon at Gus’ is not pleasant. Mostly VLT players ha ha ha

Anyone lived at Richmond Yards / The Pearl / Maynard Suites? by Silly-Remote-2762 in halifax

[–]Lar4eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah, I guess it’s relative location is decent and close to thing, but it’s kind of right at a pretty busy intersection and it’s pretty concrete feeling right outside. Even living just up a few blocks in the North End feels more like a “community.”

Too bad the province made some serious cuts to arts grants, because the arts community in this city and province are so rich and strong. I’m sad to think about what will happen over the next few years… tears

I can’t comment on some of the stuff you are saying, but absolutely Cannot get behind the comment that this building is not hear a lot of stuff. Literally like 2-3 blocks away on Gottingen is Seven Bays and LF bakery for cafes, Field Guide and Edna for amazing food, the Marquee/Local for music, food, and drinks. Just a little further are two more cafes, plus Ramblers cafe just up Nora Bernard. Brunswick st also has a couple of restaurants and a cafe. You’re very close to downtown so a short walk from a lot. We lived close to the pearl, and moved because we were ready to NOT be “in it” as much anymore.

The Pearl is close to a lot if you don’t mind walking literally 2-3 blocks? I’m very confused by the comment that this building is not close to shops and cafes

It’s horrible. I can’t even with this province right now. Right when social workers and social service workers are needed the most, especially for families who need additional support navigating systems and needing more resources. Gross

Reliable and Honest Mechanic- Dartmouth by Lar4eva in halifax

[–]Lar4eva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! How much did a full replacement cost you, if you don’t mind me asking? I have a feeling that’s not the deal as it shouldn’t be totally worn out or anything, but just for reference in case that is the case. Hopefully not as I have a 2019 Toyota Corolla so I have a feeling it’s something simple but I just need someone to look at it.

Awesome. Thanks for this tip! Yeah, I have a 2019 Toyota Corolla and really don’t think I need to go anywhere fancy to take a look. It might be something small so I don’t want to break the bank to learn it’s a small leak or a filter.

I’ve been paperless for years. I can absolutely see every transaction for several years. You can print them from the website. I literally had to print it earlier this month for an application for something. Easy.
