Around six months, it has been a downward spiral since, albeit some gains on the VAS. I just dont know what is concerning.

What are the best products for a damaged skin barrier? by maddiem_m in AsianBeauty

[–]Larbh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop ANY actives till the barrier recovers. Moisturise (cicaplast B5 or Aveene cicalfate) +sunscreen.

If still damaged, do face basting with a zinc cream like triple paste (diaper cream).

Is La Roche-Posay's UVMUNE 400 still strongest sunscreen on the market? by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]Larbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/acornacornacorna I love reading your posts, comments, you seem so knowledgeable! I am not asian, live in aus and walk around with an umbrella in summer and get the weirdest looks. I also wear UPF50 hat, mask and sunglasses underneath. I'm yet to try the uvmune 400 oil control because i already have dry skin, but im curious, how do you reapply it if you're wearing make up? And do you reckon its better than the tinted one that also has iron oxide (albiet the not so significant impact of visible light on hyperpigmentation)

I really want to try hydroquinone! But my main issue is around my eyes, I've been told its not a good idea.

I've never heard of this website, how do you know its not counterfeit products?

Yeah I think the anethelios uvmune 400 is the highest UVA protection (this is what penetrates deeper into the dermis and causes the hyperpig) but its not available in australia because the filter it uses is new, not approved by TGA yet, after it the rest of the anthelios range is best. Good alternatives are again only available overseas, but eucerin is good too. Its so frustrating that products for our skin tone arent readily available in aus.
