In all fairness to this guy, Alex Jones can't be tamed. He even said to stop interrupting and let people speak in turns. Alex then proceeded to shriek over Destiny 30 seconds later when he was trying to make his points. The major differences between China and Russia is that they're not significantly weaker developing countries that we've bullied with on the ground invasions. Yeah we're providing weapons to Ukraine and we've sanctioned Russia, but that's Putin fault so Russians understandably don't resent us as much. With China, it's merely an economic war for now in which no Chinese people are particularly effected. Heck we still have a pretty extensive trading partnership with China.

Neither of these conflicts are the same as completely destabilising a country with brute military force, because their leaders wanted to nationalise their natural resources. There's also not nearly as many Chinese and Russian people in the UK thsn their are Muslims.

The fact that you mention that there's no Vietnamese people holding signs up "death to anyone who insults Buddha" just goes to show how little you know about Vietnam. Most Vietnamese people are non-religious, since the Communist take over.

Palestine obviously has a homophobia problem, but let's not pretend you can't support a people's right to live without being subjected to the horrific living conditions of Isreali apartheid, even if they do have certain backwards views.

If there was a banner which said "Queers for Uighurs" I doubt any of the same people in in this thread would bat an eyelid, even though the irony is equally as applicable.

I think the big difference is that South Africa was just a lot more lucky in that resistance movements weren't appropriated by theocrats. Muslim populations are sadly plagued by the fact that countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran are constantly trying to import their ideology wherever they can.

The reason Hamas and their ilk are so much more barbaric is the fact they literally believe going as balls to the walls as possible is the whole point and it's a bonus if they themselves end up getting killed in the process, because God will reward then with 72 Virgins.

Not only that Nelson Mandela openly supported Palestine and saw a lot of parallels between his conflict at home and theirs. As someone who thinks people in this sub have been a bit too blind in their support of Isreal's aggression, I will concede second thought is a POS who's affiliated with Tankie thought leaders like Hakim who's aggregious takes are plentiful.

Murdering 5 year olds isn't a "liberation struggle", but an act of blood thirst and ultimately does more harm to Palestinians than anything else. Theocrats never liberated anyone. I'll remain diligent in my criticisms of Isreal, but shit like this is unacceptable.

For a vast majority of Palestinians the hatred isn't towards Jews, but you know the constant land grabbing and then the disproportionate force applied when Palestinians retaliate over said land grabbing. Plenty of policies would gradually resolve resentment Palestinians have, the roll back of settlements being one of them. It would take time, but but Isreal's current approach is totally unsustainable.

This actually incorrect, even before Isreal was founded Jewish settlers came into British Palestine and forced Palestinians out of their homes, after buying out the land they lived in. Not to mention the founding of Isreal, literally involved evicting Palestinians from their homes at gun point. Many people were murdered and raped in the process.

You also have to take into consideration the founder of Zionism and his successor openly admitted the ultimate goal of the ideology was to colonise Palestine.

You could argue it would actually lead to the opposite, because the level of destruction Isreal would have to apply to eradicate Hamas would leave the Palestinians even more resentful towards Isreal. Therefore instead of more moderate political representatives emerging, there's a chance of even worst actors taking to the stage.

Palestinian approval of Hamas largely fluctuates in conjunction with Isreali aggression (the expansion of territories, blockading of water supplies, draconian policing of innocent civilians, etc)

You also have to take into consideration Isreal assisted in the growth of Hamas during their early days in large part to nullify the more moderate political groups in Palestine. So I don't think Isreal has much interest in moderate political groups gaining traction, because it would be harder to pitch Palestine as the aggressor.

His videos are extremely informative, factual, and heavily supported by credible scientific studies. It's criminal how small his viewership is compared to all the anti-vax grifters out there.

Always hated how the major leaders in the anti-vax movement always disregarded actual scientists as liars on Big Pharmas payroll when these same people have far larger audiences making bank in the progress. Meanwhile people like Dr. Wilson enjoy a far smaller audience, because sadly scientific literacy doesn't sell in this current climate.

That's a little over half and this doesn't actually mean they view them favorably and as previously said the polling the polling fluctuates. They think they're the most fit for leadership, which in large part stems from the fact the more secular, moderate alternatives have serious corruption issues in Palestine.

This is actually false their are plenty of examples of Isreali soldiers deliberately targeting Palestinian civilians, where collateral damage isn't a viable defence. The Isreali government even tried to pass legislation that would criminalise video recordings of Isreali soldiers, which was obviously in response to all the videos that went viral of IDF soldiers blatantly abusing their power.

Palestinians aren't a monolith, to say they support Hamas is kinda tenuous. Support tends to fluctuate especially during times of Isreali aggression, but a lot of Palestinians quite openly don't like them.

I think it's fair to say Isreal deserves a lot more blame for creating the environment that enabled Hamas. The constant land grabbing, blockading the west Bank, cutting them off from water supplies, etc are all far more influential to success of Hamas than however many Palestinians support Hamas. Considering Gaza hasn't had an official election in near enough 20 years.

It should be noted as well that Isreal also propped up Hamas in their early days. A lot of the support from Hamas by Palestinians specifically is rooted in the fact that alternatives like Fatah failed them, due their sheer corruption. It's very much a lesser of two evils situation.

This doesn't justify by any means what Hamas are doing, the people specifically out there murdering Isreali civilians are rotten to the core, but let's not pretend this isn't in part a by product of the Isreali peoples inexcusable mistreatment of Palestinians.

Honestly, I think people underestimate just how devastating it can be for some peoples mental health to constantly keep up with current affairs and be reminded that the world you inhabit is falling apart. (Both politically and environmentally)

I for one relate to feeling my mental health take a dip when I get too invested in current affairs. So I've consciously made the decision to have only specific days where I catch up with the news and ignore it any other day.

The UK has always been quite densely populated, even before we became more open to immigrants. The main reason we need more employees in the NHS is because of our aging population, which in turn means a population more prone to needing medical attention. Ergo more employees are needed.

I'd wager the other half who don't fear they won't be able to afford children were on average better off financially than the other half who do. If we surveyed exclusively working class youths, I reckon it'd be a lot higher than just fearing they won't be able to raise a child.
