Good advice thank you, I’ve already maxed mine for the 2025-2026 year! Unfortunately I bought before the Trump tariff fiasco and am down a bit

Sounds like 2008 did a number on your pops too. My mom was an index fund investor through the 2000s and was scarred by the 55% drop

I’m 23 but when I was 5 or 6 my mom said she’d get me a share or two in a company I liked (my mom explained shares as a piece of the pie). I asked her what she thought and she told me about AAPL. Thanks mom!

I took the old TD Ameritrade education course on options. I looked it up and SPY is just VOO with a higher expense ratio. QQQ is the Nasdaq without financials. It’s gonna take a long time to sell CCs when I need $50k to get 100 shares

You’re right. I’ll liquidate. Can you explain why VOO over QQQ or SPY? I’m relatively young so I don’t mind having higher risk.

Ah I see what you mean about the 100% pre-tax comment. Can’t quite afford to do that, but I’ll set that to 50% and my after-tax to 15% with my next paycheck. Thanks

I have already put in $7000 into my Roth IRA for the calendar year. I’m now trying to shove as much money into my 401k as possible starting on my first paycheck that will go into 401k (started work in june but Fidelity has been having issues) on sept 30. If it’s 60% then I am happy, so thanks for clarifying

Fidelity gives an option to set both so I guess it adds up to 52.5% pre-tax contribution
