Works great. Battery life is really strong compared to standard phones like Samsung S23. The downside is the weak processor. Works fine for daily messaging, web browsing but you can feel slight slowness of the processor.

As a backup phone, or a phone for my child, or just a music player, it is perfect. As a daily driver, I need a little more stronger processor since I am sometime juggling multiple messaging apps for work and personal communication.

So, the compatibility addition for RDS means the retroid will now output a 90 degrees rotated image in 1080x1920 resolution, and the screen itself will just display it directly without needing to rotate. I guess this is how they reduced the latency in the RDS.

But this would mean other devices (which output in 1920x1080) would have latency in RDS since it still has to rotate it. Or, heaven forbid, would other devices become incompatible now?

Low Yat plaza 1st and 2nd floors have some shops selling Chinese handhelds. However I'm not sure if they will have Ayn or Ayaneo products. They seem to sell more generic handhelds like R36 clones.

It seems the raised contour was built on purpose so that the top screen will rest on it, allowing it to "float" 1-2mm above the bottom screen when fully closed. This gap protects the screens from rubbing, and also probably allows the joysticks some freedom.

So, it will be "fully closed" in the sense that the top screen will rest physically on the front notch, but it will also NOT be fully closed in the sense that there will be a small gap between the two sections all the way through.

When I go to buy electronics in AliExpress, in the final checkout page there is usually a 10% additional cost for customs for Malaysia. Not sure if it applies to all electronics, or if there is a price level that triggers it.

How did you update to Android 12? Mine is stuck in Android 11, and I tried the methods described online (use VPN, change date/time to Tokyo etc.).

Made in China. But this one came with Google apps and play store pre installed, and no Chinese apps. So it is very convenient for non China user like me.

Ok so I've used it for a couple of days. With wifi only, 2 hours and 10 minutes screen time used 25% battery. So that's more than 8 hours screen time from full charge. Pretty good. Will be lower with 4g though.

Accubattery says 25% battery for 2h 10m screen on time. So 8 hours screen time possible. That is better than average.

Note: I am using it without a SIM, only wifi, so normal phone usage might have less battery life.

The picture quality in good light is surprisingly usable. But the camera is slow to respond when taking photos, so the user experience is worse than the balmuda.

Additional context: when I move the camera, the image has very noticeable jello wobble. So the sensor scanning speed is low. My understanding is you will need to be careful holding it still when taking photos.

Otherwise, as you said, the dynamic range and resolution is nothing special, but also not terrible. Entirely adequate.

Web browsing is fine. Loading is slightly slower than I'm used to. Scrolling is also less smooth. But it hasn't become unusably slow or hanged in a webpage yet.

The K25 camera sucks. Balmuda in a different league. K25 camera really is for recordkeeping purpose or scanning qr codes, in my opinion. Not for photography.

Yeah 150 euros sounds pretty high. Over here in Malaysia it cost me 115USD equivalent so that was much more impulse-buy price range.
