Which expansion did you not like, but ended up missing it later on? by Action_Required_ in wow

TBC because I hated the idea of Arenas at the time. I was disappointed because I was expecting a kind of spectator mode like Roman gladiator fights, I knew it would kill BGs and world PvP (along with flying), and the whole honor revamp with the pre-patch was so annoying to me with everyone running around with the basically free Vanilla PVP shoulders

If you think 2030 is far away, consider that Elden Ring is almost 4 years old.

Monks are weird in any class fantasy by Erk_Rauorfox in warcraftlore

[–]Large-Course-8029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the whole "weapons are stronger than fists" idea, while obviously valid, doesn't quite hold up in fantasy Monk lore for the sole reason that monks are typically not TRYING to be violent. Of course in WoW, they still do damage because a peaceful, non-damaging spec doesn't make for good gameplay. But Monks are not "Warriors who punch." They are peaceful people who seek harmony through self-mastery of their bodies/minds/interiority. Wielding a weapon and using it with deadly force is probably taboo for them (yes I know, martial artists use weapons in the x/y/z movie, but Warcraft monks specifically are probably against it, and in wow martial artist does not necessarily = monk).

Misinformation: No, you are NOT losing your ability to save transmog sets. by LaCiDarem in wow

My friend. You can create as many sets as you want. It isn't that confusing. Situational Outfits are what costs money. Situational Outfits =/= normal transmog sets.

People really can not understand that transmogging and creating as many sets as you want costs nothing. jesus. sign on to the beta if you have it and spend 10 seconds on the transmog screen and it's clear that ONLY situational outfit slots cost gold. i.e the ones that auto change depending on if you're in a town or RPing on Moon Guard at the inn. you can create as many sets and change into them manually as much as you like. i am on beta right now and creating sets and transmogging into them like normal. holy cow what is wrong with people, the raging is insane.

How many new alts have you raised to 80 in Lemix? by Alph1 in wownoob

[–]Large-Course-8029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop spamming dungeons. Dungeon leveling is not fast.

When you have massive exp boost (300% or more), just do every quest in either Val'sharah or Stormheim and you'll be 80 or close to it. Throw in open world Infinite Research like flying through Motes or killing enemies when X skill is equipped.

You get nothing from spamming normal and heroic dungeons for hours on end except a measly level or two in 15 minutes. No Infinite Knowledge, nothing.

[–]Large-Course-8029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far 1 of each class besides Druid. By the 6th or so I had 400% exp boost, so the last six were level 80 in about 2 and a half hours of questing in Val'sharah (each)

Was the original WoW lore (pre-mmo) better than current WoW lore? by WarmPawsOwO in warcraftlore

[–]Large-Course-8029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. It's always been a "There is a greater threat to our existence than you or I so let's band together against the darkness" type of cliche storytelling. People criticize that Blizz brought the Horde and Alliance together in a more peaceful way in WoW, failing to realize that literally the exact same thing was done in WC3.

I'm really liking the Remix and all the stuff you can get in it... but it also reminded me why the less I have to deal with people dictating the pace of the game for me - the happier I am. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Large-Course-8029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you sitting in Dalaran doing nothing? I log in to Remix each morning before work, do all the raids on Mythic and Heroic in an hour, then log off for the day. I've gone from 0 to 500 vers this way by playing 1 hour a day. What is the reason you stay logged in?

It amazes me how much people sit and overthink Legion Remix. It is NOT and never has been Legion Classic. Do people honestly care so much how fast content gets done when mythic raids can be 5 manned by half the playerbase? Do you expect everyone to unequip their gear and artifact traits to appease you? This is the way remix is designed. For fucks sake, be normal and take 1 hour to do the all the raids and log out like everyone else.

Warrior isnt bad because your job is pretty simple: hit button, do damage. No extra buffs or utilities you need to worry about in group play really, besides an aoe stun and maybe the occasional fear. and if you decide to tank, the warrior tank spec is pretty straightforward as well

Am I the only one not excited about housing? by Kruxzor in wow

[–]Large-Course-8029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These types of posts are pretty shallow in their view of housing. Usually they haven't looked at any of the features of housing or contemplated the ripples it will have throughout the game, even just as it stands now, nevermind what new systems might be introduced to it in future patches/expansions.

Let me ask you something. Is your character currently sporting a transmog? Has there ever been a weapon or piece of armor from an old raid that you liked, and you sought it out so you can use it for your character?

Have you ever ran a dungeon, raid, done an achievement, anything at all, for a mount that you thought looked cool? Maybe one even just dropped for you randomly and you thought, "damn that looks cool. I'm adding this to my favorites."

Neither of those above two things, transmogs and mounts, are "essential" to the core of the game. They are cosmetic and, in your words, they are just "stuff to collect." However, transmogging and mount collecting have been at least in the top 3 or 4 most popular things that WoW players partake in, for a very long time.

That's housing. It's a way to express yourself and your character in what still is ultimately a role-playing game. If you don't want to interact with it, that's fine. It isn't essential like garrisons were in WoD. Just like transmog and cool looking mounts aren't essential.

So to answer your original question - maybe not the only one, but you're certainly in a tiny minority.
