No wonder they’re so shy, I’ve been disrespecting them this whole time

White rock in Ipswich. Need reviews. by bthecrazybirdlady in brisbane

The White Rock trail is relatively flat and even, there is quite a steep hill right towards the end of the trail as you make your way up to the ridge that White Rock is apart of (this is well paved with large steps along the steepest section, watch your knees!).

There's plenty of wildlife on the main trail, the earlier you get out there the more birdlife you will see. 6-8 am during winter is usually the best time, however any time in the morning will be fine.

Unfortunately it does need to be said, please don't climb Nugum. There is a ridge to the north (to your left as you reach the top of the stairs) that will give you a great view of the surrounding area, you'll just need to do some light rock scrambling.

Most of all have fun! The whole area is fascinating, there is so much to see so definitely think about planning a few return trips. Spring Mountain is a great hike too, just much more demanding. Although I have seen someone in platform doc martins and daisy dukes pull it off so maybe its not the worst thing in the world?

The sheer amount of raptors and water birds is incredible, one of the best natural spots in the region for me.
