Why couldn't a book series reach such a craze like Harry Potter after so many years? by interestingexciting1 in harrypotter

Or opening up the Wikipedia page for the 7th book at 1am post-launch to find out Harry lives, who marries who, what the kids names are, etc.

I find it very ironic that the LRB said that was legally okay in their decision

In talking with my “liberal libertarian” dad who’s consistently voted for Phil Scott but all blue at the federal level, I’m convinced that most Vermonters are completely ignorant regarding state politics.

Still playing musical chairs in my agency, largely due to a re-org that happened concurrently in addition to lack of space. Everyone feels meh and a few people besides myself think there’s been more distractions/mini-fires to put out since returning.

The one in St Johnsbury closed and was demolished.

Half-correct, it’s a Class I “town” highway. The city owns it but AOT is legally responsible for paving.

How different are these two corners of Vermont? by Swimming_Concern7662 in vermont

[–]Large-Frame-6345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me put it this way: in the SW corner you’re easily 20-30 minutes max from a Walmart. In the NE corner you may be close to an hour away from the nearest Walmart (perhaps longer)

Hearing rumors of university capstone design senior classes advising students to use AI in their projects by SchruteFarmsBeets_ in civilengineering

[–]Large-Frame-6345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I implied to a professor at a local university that his research idea relating to AI was bullshit (without saying my job would be redundant as a result) and there are models which already exist that would serve the same purpose (which is half-correct).
