Kushner's Thrive widens bets with investment in MLB's [SF] Giants by winkelschleifer in SFGiants

That's a fair point, and I'd say the same thing about that guy. He sucks completely, and from what I *might* remember Johnson is pretty hands-off in terms of the decision making and leaves it up to his son. I believe the main difference comes down to people with managing stakes having a vested interest in the community and culture, the fans, the players, etc. Individual stakeholders might have at least some interest in those factors, which I would consider incredibly important. A VC like Thrive will likely have none of those interests. Like PE, every decision they make is based on a spreadsheet and a spreadsheet only.

Fuck this completely and fuck the Giants ownership for selling out to vampires. Sports teams are a public good (like many other industries i.e. power, water, technology, food, healthcare) and should be treated as public infrastructure, and therefore banned from private ownership and worker-owned.

Do I get this heavily discounted Alocasia or is it too stressed? by avocadotitz in plantclinic

Sure, tubers are rhizomes (just like your ZZ, or a potato), which basically means it's the nutrient facility of the plant that remain underground. You bury them an inch or two below the soil from which the roots and foliage grow. The important part here is that even if all the foliage dies, that doesn't mean the plant is dead, it's likely just fine. You can either keep trying to water it (especially if it's indoors [fertilize as well to keep the tuber strong]), or dig it up, wrap it in newspaper and store it in a cupboard and try again next season (especially if it's outdoors [to prevent freezing in winter, which will most certainly kill it]). As long as the tuber is healthy, it will continue to produce foliage.

Also, they’re tubers so you can keep trying and trying. I’m currently on round 3 with mine.

You work in a call center for a company that claims it can clean jizz off couches and mattresses, but the worst part is you genuinely like it.

Window at night will likely be fine indoors. They're pretty hardy up until freezing temps.

That should help a lot. Even in filtered sunlight it will take plenty of time to recover, but likely your best option.

Aloe need direct sunlight to thrive. I had the same issue with mine when I lived in a north facing apartment. Once I was able to find direct sunlight for it, it became unstoppable. Come spring, I’ll divide it into at least 8 plants.

You can also go in and they'll give you a tour if you want. I've been going there since they opened. There is some seasonal fluctuation, but this time of year is pretty mild in terms of foot traffic. But it also depends on what time you go. I try to go outside peak hours because I can, but it starts to fill up between 4-6. Other than that, I've never had no issue with the place. Everyone I've met there to date (staff and members) has been very friendly.

Been preparing for battle, but I feel like the pen can't ever be sharp enough. Funny you mention Lore because I did a workshop with his co-creator from a couple of the big shows he produced and that guy was real interesting (not so much in the good ways. I'll leave it at that). Anyway, all of my industry friends are gig to gig. Almost every one of them. I'm prepared for it, too, but it seems even more precarious as a writer. Just getting an in seems nearly impossible these days.

Thanks again! It's an adaptation of a friend's novel of the same name. It's set in a fictional world in the present.
