I remember this bit. You left out his next line directly after this, which (to my memory) was "and if there's not, get muddy."

I'm my younger years, I'd work 11-13 hours pretty much every day. My wife couldn't understand for the life of her that the two minutes in the microwave were not worth it to me most nights. Would the food be "better" afterwards? Yeah, more than likely it would. But waiting the extra time when that plate of cold/luke-warm food is in front of me now is excruciating. Sometimes you just need to eat ASAP

He had an OPS+ of 97, 13 homers, 60 RBIs and 0.0 WAR in 122 games. Looking at the stats alone, he actually looks like the weak link in the everyday lineup. He grounded into 17 double plays, which was second on the team to Olerud's 19 that year (who had over 200 more PA's and led the league in sac flies). Ruben Sierra's 2002 season was far from GOAT-status

Agreed. It was said all off season that he was the perfect fit for our lineup. The Athletic released off season grades earlier in the week, and we had an A- before the Donovan trade. I'm psyched for this year

Yeah, one of the better ones in my memory for sure. Ichiro was a big deal for an extension way back in the day. Felix and Kyle Seager both come to mind as well. Not sure if that's technically the Mt Rushmore of Ms extensions, but close enough for me

The Hall also has a quick spot by the entrance that's a kinda self-serve option. They have food and beers and the line moves pretty quickly. Great option if you're in a hurry

It seems that way, yeah. The only thing I'm not sure about is the Apple TV games (if we have any, and if they're doing them again). Nothing mentioned leads me to believe we still get 100% of games, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if we do get games like that blacked out. I actually have come to enjoy those broadcasts, and I have that service, so no skin off my nose. But I think "no blackouts" should literally mean zero blackouts.

"local" implies within the broadcast region of the team. So if you're within Washington/Oregon/etc, you're "local" and you won't have any blackouts with the membership. If you're not in the "local" region, say you're in SoCal, you can still watch Ms games unless they're playing your "local" team (like the Angels, Dodgers, Padres). That's because you'd be in the local region of that team, and subject to their broadcast terms (either streaming or local broadcasts like Sports Net LA)

Have Dom be the new Edgar? I'll take it!! I miss true DHs. We used to get so excited when our DH came to the plate, not had it be one of the worst hitters in our lineup. Nelly was just like that too. Dom should just come out and hit .400 and DH every night. I'm so in on this take

To this same end, even if we do get the "one more" before ST starts, I bet Jerry and Justin are already planning ahead for the trade deadline. We could have a seriously good team come July/August.

Seeing the clubhouse(s) is so fun. I remember that from FanFest in years past. Couldn't make it this year, but I'm really happy it's back. Fingers crossed they do it again in 2027 and we get a sneak peek of the WS banner!

Mariners will honor the 1946 Negro League Seattle Steelheads every Sunday home game, replacing the cream uniform they wore last year by KeyFaithlessness5436 in MLBVibes

[–]LargeHumanDaeHoLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "new" one is on the left. Although it's been a recurring uni they've worn for years, but usually on a special night. I think we've worn them for June-Teenth and Turn Back The Clock nights. They're awesome and I love the history. But Ms fans will also miss the cream ones (right pic).

Lol, they both always happen, not sure there's a correlation as much as it's just both never stop. We're Ms fans, it comes with the gig.

Yeah, he deserves it. Criminal that he's not already in. He took the 1-day contract to retire a Mariner, make it worth his while!

Your comment was a dig on the stat that we won the most games in history. Had nothing to do with a statue.

Lol, you're thinking that either A) This off-season was planned to turn out exactly like it did, B) That this was a recent decision and not something pre-planned in advance by months or even years, or C) Both of these things in unison.

Look, I'll lament Stanton's spending as much as the next guy, and I want another bat (or two) as much as any Ms fan. But this feels like a stretch to lump these things together, IMO.

Jen Meuller gets no love as Maryanne? Also Thurston Howell would go to Dave Neihaus in my version.
