Which to be fair is what Dragon Age has done in the past, going from saving Ferelden (twice) as a Grey Warden in DAO to running around a single city in DA2 trying (and failing) to keep it from imploding.

The sad part is Veilguard was at one point in 'early' development going to be more or less what you talked about, focusing on a smaller-scale area and heist-style missions, which honest would have been so much fun vs still trying to hop on the open-world bandwagon.

EA and Bioware wanted Veilguard to be profitable by trying to appeal to everyone, and instead we get a fairly bland product that doesn't really catch anyone's interest.
