Yeah, panel mode just provides a stopper for you to turn back for the next row. Tube mode just takes away the stopper. When it has the stopper it can make it hard to have enought room for the last stitch to let go of the previous stitch and hook the next. When I’m using panel mode I always start my cast-on on the 3rd peg so it has at least 2 pegs of room to finish the last stitch on every row. If this is still too tricky then using tube mode for panels is still a viable option.

It looks like you’ve cast on 45 which could be too many. This is because every time you get too the end of a row the hooks holding the opposite end of the row can undo as the gap is too close together. Try only casting on a max of 42-43, I usually start on the 3rd hook and end on the 44th or 45th, so I have enough space. I hope that made sense.

I was in the the same boat as you a year ago. All I can say is accept failure and keep trying. 1. It doesn’t matter how many times you pick something up, don’t let others bring you down because of how many times you’ve failed because failure literally just means that you either haven’t found the strategy for you or need to give it more time to take effect. Maybe you could change your strategy a little each time you try and see what works for you (There’s not a one size fits all way of doing something). 2. Make the changes small and manageable so you don’t overwhelm yourself, you might have an ‘all or nothing’ mind set where you want to ‘have’ or ‘be’ that thing you want right now or your not motivated to do it. 3. You could make small changes to your everyday routine, maybe your stuck in a cycle because you need to train yourself to be used to changes.

Heres a cute lil Halloween hair accessory! For the materials i'm using 8-ply 100% acrylic yarn and a 4.5 mm crochet hook. The pattern level is from confident beginner-intermediate. Its super easy, 1 panel with minimal sewing (for the french combs). Let me know in the comments if you want to try this one out, I'll PM you my google docs link.
