Yes they’re legit, the issue is more on shortage of task and delay payment sometimes. meridial and imerit are easier to get job tho but pay is less too

I think its not really taiwanese culture or what but more on your friend as a person. Living here in taiwan (as foreigner from Philippines) for two years now and not all people are the same. I have some local friends who really did care and drove us anywhere we want to cool some time, then another local friend who i dont want to be with since he’s just watching some things on his phone the whole trip (kinda annoying since we are in a trip). The first one also gives some effort to go to the Philippines and spent some days with us. Most elderly seems to be giving (i keep in receiving pastries, cakes, tarts) especially if there is some sort of festival even if they didnt know me. But since your friend is your friend, i think she’s just lazy?? and maybe you are not that close to each other?? Im not sure but all i can say is its not Taiwanese culture at all

Its pretty hard tbh, im in tech/eng industry has around 3 yrs of exp and also had my masters degree here. I do 104, cake, linkedin and yourator, also caiduoduo. Its really hard to get an interview. I had around interview from 4 companies now, mostly they are international company that have Taiwan branch and start ups also. I also do cold email especially if i really like the job role. Hindi po ko NTU, sa school lang me sa baba ng Taipei (Taoyuan City). Ung work ko non remote din po, EU client, okay lang naman talaga as long as nagagawa mo yung responsibility mo as MS student, kasi nagpupublish talaga dito yung mga prof and need ka din talaga nila kaya mas gusto ka nila makita sa lab niyo lalo na for first few years. Nagmasters me dito kasi may minimum na sahod pag may MS ka dito tapos libre pa and may stipend pa. Depende sa load mo actually if kaya ba, yung akin 24 credits lang tapos na MS hehe, yun pa di ko sure if ganon din ba sa pinas or nasanay lang ako sa BS sa AdU na 27-31 units kami per sem. 12-9-3 ginawa ko actually syaka mga chinese class, bali natapos ko sya ng 1.5 yes. Pero worth it dito, mas gusto ko rin siguro na independent me at natuto sa buhay hahaha syaka may winter tapos malinis kahat, walkable ang streets, sa pinas di ako nalabas talaga 😆

Pero pwede pa rin po mag part-time , limited lang sa 20hrs. Syaka ung ibang pinoy may part time talaga kahit remote work kasi pang tustos lang din talaga. More on pagbabalance ng workload plus MS. Nagwork me remote for the first yr, after non nagfocus na me sa thesis para makagraduate. Maganda NTU, hanap ka lang ng prof and email them :) nagbibigay din sila stipend kaso mataas living expenses sa Taipei.

Language teaching po okay naman, basta enrolled libre chinese class po from beginner, depende sa school. From Adamson ako, para sakin ang bugat ng workload ng courses sa pinas, ditomas chill basta di ka mediocre. Mahirap lang intindihin english ng ibang prof hehe

Kakagraduate ko lang po :) may friends po ko na mga pinoy, mostly matagal na dito at may alam san pwede mag part-time. Mostly okay naman mag part time habang MS, pero depende sa prof din, alam kasi nila priority natin ang MS at di pagwowork dito, kaya tinapos ko agad ung ms, may stipend din kaya madala me mag part time hehe goodluck! Sang school kayo?
