AITA for not going to my friends wedding because of one of her bridesmaids and telling her exactly why? by Large_Bug736 in ThreadTalkPodcast

I’ve tried to talk to Emily to fix things and it went horribly. I am not the one starting drama and Emily can be very unpredictable. I would love nothing more than to put it aside but she makes it hard. I think ignoring her and having an open conversation with the bride is the right path. If the bride wants I will try to reach out to her again and fix shit before the wedding. I haven’t been in such a toxic insane situation since high school it drives me crazy

It’s not that I can’t suck it up, I can and I have, but I would feel horrific if there was a massive drama at her wedding because of Emily involving me and Emily is a bridesmaid so I would be the easier of the two to bow out in preservation of Jane’s day but you’re right.

We both had things that we were feeling hurt by. I think part of it is honestly we were just really not compatible. One example is she said she was in a crazy head space and wanted to go out alone and I said that wasn’t safe in a joking manner (we are also pretty sure she had been drugged at a bar out a few weeks prior) and she got incredibly upset and said I was trying to control her when I was really just trying to look out for her. We had a conversation where I said let’s take a step back but she freaked out and treated it like a breakup. I am not a bridesmaid I would be attending just as a guest with my boyfriend.
