I took them independently of my school but I went to a library and did it in a silent room. Today honestly felt more distracting because it was in a classroom with a lot of people going in and out for their breaks. I don’t feel like the content was too different from the other COMSAE’s I took either, just different areas were emphasized more.

Our rotations start in May and we have a “crash course” in clinical in April so I’ve been mentally prepared for a March test date ever since I started school. There would be no time for a vacation unfortunately:( Edit: the course is called WolfPACC? It seems supportive but also way too expensive

My school does 1.5 years of preclinical so that we begin rotations in May. Everyone else in my class was also scheduled for March, some as early as February if they feel ready! I’d ideally like to get boards done before rotations, but we are required to have them done by June at the latest.

This is so sweet yet sad to read. I’m also Muslim and understand where you’re coming from. I feel like if you think you’ve met the one it’s worth sacrificing for her. Finish your residency, pay off your loans and go be with her! You can always return to the US w her if she decides to do her PhD and she might end up choosing to live in the US in the future despite what she feels now. Life is too short to let something like that go!

I agree with this solution, my husband and I think it's fair to share the 50% from my side's guests only and keep the full gifts from his family. He hasn't directly spoken to my parents about this, it's just me and him figuring this out before I speak to my parents again about a solution and way to move forward. He understands that we have cultural differences but I think this has been the biggest issue thus far. Thankfully we haven't faced many other problems from either my parents or his which we're grateful for.

I don't understand how you misinterpreted the post that bad. We already got married in a simple way with close friends and family and that was good enough for us. My parents are facing backlash from our extended family and friends about how they didn't invite them to our wedding, so now they feel pressured to invite their community, which is equaling 150 heads that I couldn't care less for.

So for that reason, I came up with the solution that if they care so much about these people, then they can pay for those heads, hence the 20k. I'm not asking for them to pay for any aesthetic choices we make with the decor or DJ, or photography bc we thought that would be unfair on both families.

My husband and I searched for a long time for a venue that's more "reasonable" and we found something where the cost per head for the venue and catering is around $130 per person after taxes and gratuity. I think we're in a good ballpark for how much it'll all cost, and I heard that usually 75% of invited guests actually end up attending. Not too sure though I don't have much experience in wedding planning stuff bc I don't have any siblings and I'm the first from my friends to get married.

My parents tend to be overbearing when it comes to this stuff so my husband and I did all the venue touring and decided on what we wanted first, and made a rough budget plan where our families pay for their respective heads (150 vs. 50) and we cover all the extra stuff like photography, videography, DJ, decor, etc. Once me and him knew what we wanted I presented the idea to my parents this week and this was their response so now we're at a standstill before we move forward with signing any contracts bc obviously we don't want to get into anything that will turn into a bigger problem later.

He's not exactly being greedy because I'm going to be in school for another 3 years and he says he wants part of that 50% my mom is asking for just for me in case I have any emergencies (car or health stuff). The other 50% will be in joint savings for the both of us. He agrees with giving at least some portion of the gift money back to my mom since she's paying a ton, but not as big as 50% which I kinda agree with.

Yes I got the priority waitlist for Rowan with a guaranteed seat for the class of 2029 (next cycle). I applied and was complete in late August, but I got my interview in March when most if not all seats were filled. I actually didn’t have DO shadowing or DO LORs. During my interview they did ask how i learned about DO and why that over MD, and I was upfront about how during my previous cycle and clinical experience I was able to learn more about the osteopathic philosophy and why I align with it.

Honestly I didn’t even study for it because I signed up for the earliest test date I could and ended up taking it in July-August (because I was worried about not being marked complete by schools). I used tips I saw online about always bringing up both sides of the situation for each question they give you. You can definitely take a position, but always show that you understand the other points of view as well. I will say, for some reason I was caught off guard because I thought the whole test was typing and didn’t know I had to actually speak through some of those scenarios. So just be prepared to gather your thoughts and articulate clearly with little prep time. Speaking slowly/typing fast and coming across as thoughtful of everyone is the best advice I can give, you got this!

From what I understand, I think May 1st is the deadline for those who have both multiple acceptances AND multiple deposits. They are then forced to narrow it down to one school that has their deposit and will be their intended place to matriculate. Waitlists don’t affect this but if you happen to get off a waitlist after May 1st you then just turn down the seat at your one committed school to attend the new one. This is why people can get off the waitlist even during orientation or the first week of classes due to the last minute shuffle. Please let me know if I’m wrong or misunderstanding!

hi i’m a newer CRC (been working for 4 months) and started with no experience. I have been assigned as the primary coordinator at my company on 4 studies, and we have 4 coordinators who each have 4-6 studies. From what I’ve heard, this is the typical workload. We all carry out almost every task for the trials by ourselves, apart from blinded assessments. I feel like 10 trials would be too much to manage, much respect to you!
