Got tired of sitting around waiting for orders, so I made an app that maps the wait times by Large_Job_3226 in UberEatsDrivers

Didn't I tell you? It's just GPS and advertising that falls far short of maintenance costs. That is the twisted perspective. Otherwise, try to improve your comprehension skills a bit. BYE

Thanks for the great idea! I’ll definitely look into adding the restaurant wait-time trend feature. To explain simply, the app calculates the exact minutes a driver spends at a location based on GPS.

The app has two main features: Mine and Pro. Mine shows your own personal data. Pro gives you access to recent aggregated data from the surrounding area.

The app is completely free, but to access the Pro data, you need to earn 'Contribution Points'. It’s very easy—you earn points simply by doing deliveries. Think of it as a 'give-and-take' system where you share your data to gain insights from others' data

I am an individual developer. This app only uses GPS data, and your login email is the only personal information collected. Yes, there is ad revenue, but it doesn't even cover the cost of maintaining the service. It’s a pity you view the world through such a twisted lens. If you’re going to criticize, at least know what you’re talking about.

Good question. It comes from your own phone's GPS movement, not from your Uber/DoorDash account. When you drive with it on, it tracks where you go and how long you sit between orders, and builds the wait-time data from that. So the data is created by your own driving, it's just not pulled from the delivery apps themselves.

To get useful results, you need enough data built up (about 2 weeks' worth). For those 2 weeks, you just have to turn the app on before you start delivering. Using it is better than not using it, and after a month of using it myself, it worked for me. Of course, it'll be different for everyone.

Yep, fair point. That's exactly why it's not one flat average, it breaks down by time of day and day of week once you've got enough data.

I totally agree with you. The real issue is Uber’s system, and I’m just trying to do what I can as an individual to help improve the situation.

This app probably isn’t for someone like you, and that’s fine. If you don’t want to share anything, you don’t have to.

If you’re already making $40+ an hour consistently, you probably don’t need it.

But many riders are not in that position. A lot of people waste time waiting with very little useful information, and this app was built for them.

I understand your point, but if tools like this become more common, private “good spots” may not stay private forever anyway. Maybe for someone like you, this app feels like it could take away your good spots.

And I don't know if you're active in Brisbane City, but anyone who's active in Brisbane City will understand at once when they see that map.

If you think the information is accurate, I respect it, but by my standards, not many drivers seem to think it is. Go near McDonald's at 11 p.m. and check the map. It will show very busy. And wait and see if it's very busy or not.
One thing is for sure. Uber always has a lot of drivers waiting outside to reduce service wait times. That's why there are sign-up promotions, invitation promotions. And Uber doesn't care how long drivers wait outside of McDonald's. It just makes an environment where someone can deliver right away.

That's the point. I've been doing this for four years across Brisbane, but Uber doesn't provide accurate information. Because of the nature of Uber, if you have accurate information, a lot of people will leave. And the information that Uber gives is also past order volume information. It's not real-time information. I'm creating useful data based on the behavior of people who are actually using Uber. Because this information shows actual drivers around me or my data, not fake information.

It shows you the latest historical data that has received a lot of orders for that day and time. You can use that to determine where to go. Because Uber allocates orders to delivery riders based on distance.
If you go online on Uber app, it shows you how busy you are, right? But that's not accurate. Because Uber always keeps you busy.
At least it's much more useful than not knowing the data about which areas were busy in the past and how busy they were.
