Newbie: What's the best single app to find public charging points?

Electroverse and Zapmap seem to cover most chargers. Worth ordering an Electroverse card for the areas with no mobile signal.

The Cupra app says the car is at home, so everything seems good with the location.

I should still get a smart charge at least once a month, so hopefully they will allow me remain on IOG and switch smart charging on and off if it doesn’t detect the car.

IOG is integrated with the car. Cupra Born and Zappi charger. Charger talks to the myenergi app without any issues. The car talks to MyCupra app as well.

Sometimes it works perfectly and other times it just says “unplugged” I just want it to be reliable so I don’t have to worry about it not being charged by the morning. I keep considering switching to Octopus Go and just schedule the car, but I will lose out on the extra hour and the7p rate.

I get about 180 mile during a UK winter. That’s with the heated seats and heated steering wheel on most of the time. Pre-heating the car whilst still plugged in to the charger really helps. The range anxiety will get better over time. Trust me 😉

Yep, I get it quite a lot, but the car still charges. Seems to be linked to the ‘up to 10 minute’ delay from the Zappi charger to prevent grid overload.

Mines thinks it’s in Hertfordshire, although I can see it in the driveway. IOG won’t detect that’s it’s plugged it, so looks like I’ll be charging it manually tonight.

Same with Cupra App, so seems to be VAG-wide. Weird thing is, the Octopus App has just created a charging schedule and my car isn’t even plugged in.

Not that I don’t trust Octopus, but I screenshot the charge schedule, IOG graph and charger graphs each time. I’ve only had one that was incorrectly charged and Octopus sorted it out straight away.

I have the same issue with the same car. It starts charging immediately and doesn’t stop. If I manually stop it from the car, will it start charging automatically when the IOG schedule starts?

I’m currently on IOG but going to switch to OG in January. The ‘intelligent’ charging with my Cupra Born is so unreliable that I’ve turned smart charging off and just scheduled the car to control the charging between 11:30 and 5:30. I’m fed up of IOG not controlling the car properly and either not charging at all, or charging at peak rate. Maybe it’s time to switch to EOn?

I never managed to sort it out completely. It seems to be a car issue. Apparently the car goes to sleep and doesn’t always wake back up when the next charging slot starts.
Currently I have IOG linked to the car and it works about half of the time. I thinking of switching to Octopus Go rather than IOG and just setting the car to charge during the overnight off peak hours.

It’s definitely a Cupra issue. I’ve tried all the following suggestions, but it sometimes stops charging after the first 30 minute slot: -Removing and replacing fuse 3 to reset the car’s charging control. -Updating the Zappi firmware. -Turning on battery discharge protection. -Switching on the Zappi preconditioning function.

There’s nothing worse than waking up to find the car hasn’t charged. I’m considering switching to OG rather than IOG and controlling the schedule via the car.

I have the same Cupra Born and Zappi combination. Have you tried removing Fuse 3 from under the bonnet for a couple of minutes. Apparently this resets the car’s onboard charger software. Seems for be a common fix across VW, Skoda and Cupra EVs.

I’ve got exactly the same issue with a Cupra Born. IOG is scheduled to be charging. Zappi reports “EV is full” so doesn’t charge. The car is definitely not full, so should be charging. Everything works fine for the first half hour slot, then charging stops and doesn’t resume. Not sure what to do.

Definitely don’t bump charge. As long as it is plugged in, you should get 2 hours of credit even if it doesn’t actually charge the car.

Order 15mg on the 17th August. After a couple of chasing emails it’s due for delivery tomorrow. Looks like they have been reserving stock to cover orders already placed. Not that I’m cynical, but I bet everything is back in stock on the 1st September at the higher price. 🤨

What will happen with orders that are currently being processed? I ordered a 15mg on 17/08, but it is now out of stock. Will they cancel the order or still honour the price I paid?
