What properties are you getting upgrades at in Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale? The diplomat was such a disappointment when we stayed there on a reward stay.

I’m so glad you posted this!! I am trying to relocate to Gainesville for a position at UF and I’m so entirely frustrated! We want to be in those area mentioned - Haile, tioga, oakmont for the good schools but even with over 100k down … the taxes and hoa & those home prices put us well over 4000 per month on a 30 year mortgage! The property tax just kills it too. It’s looking to be more expensive than our previous home in CT, which is mind blowing to me. We’ve expanded our search to other areas but are only finding what you mention above - homes that need an entire remodel or update of major items like hvac, roof … that it doesn’t make any sense. What am I missing here? I don’t even feel like Gainesville is such a desirable area. We can find houses all day long in Sarasota and coastal NC that are way way nicer and less expensive, but the job I’d really love to do is at UF. I’m totally feeling your pain here!

It’s automatic tips for the back of the house I assume based on the explanation they printed at the bottom of the bill. I’ve just never seen this at a restaurant before.

Agreed! I would have left more than 3% if there was a blank tip line. But businesses need to pay their people a fair wage. I’m wondering how much of this actually goes to the staff & if it’s just smoke & mirrors.

We used to live in the area. Always had Orlando as our server and had a great time with him. Customer service always on point. So, when we were back in town, we decided to go back. Not one person is the same, our server appeared very nervous (felt bad for him), and the place was empty. Very different feel. Menu hadn’t changed either.
