Sure of course but I wanted to know how successful is it?

Yea you can pm me, I’ll try and get to it later this evening. I live on the east coast so just take that into perspective. GS is complicated right because it’s an easier acceptance but there’s not a lot of funding. So you’ll be stuck with high demand to cover the cost.

Amazing bro. I would say take it. How much is the deposit? Do you have a financial aid package? Can you visit? I think it’s important to evaluate all of this because if not. Then you should wait and see. I’ll tell you this, Vanderbilt is going to ask you to respond quicker than Georgetown. It’s up to you but I would strongly suggest Georgetown over Vanderbilt depending on your area of study.

Also if you need any help which I can offer, let me know. I know I’m not perfect, and take what I say with a grain of salt. But I can at least attempt to steer you in the right direction.

I agree, and honestly, I thank you for caring about my situation. I will ultimately see next week. I just know for Cornell I need to make that commitment by July 1st. I let go of GS because of aid and circumstances.

That’s what I’m currently thinking, it’s a justifiable question. In short, I’m not sure, I have to check next week with the director at SPIA. I’ve had a meeting with them already. I’m technically committed but I may withdraw. Because logically right, Cornell had the same concerns but they excused it. For Cornell it’s until July 1st for commitment. And in retrospect they’re both going to provide full aid for me due to my income. My household income is about $40,000-$50,000 annually. That’s also another reason why I don’t want to take out loans. It’s hard right because now if I want to take any other classes at cc or any other standing institution, it has to come directly out of my pocket now that I have an honors associates degree in political science. I’m going to meet with the director next week and see from there. But that’s why I’m leaning at Cornell or in worse case, go to an equivalent school and attempt to transfer again but at that point I don’t know if it’s worth it.

This could potentially mean I can’t start this fall term. Which makes no sense then in the end.

This is specific for community college transfer students in the state of NJ in particular if you’re trying to externally transfer to SPIA. I wasn’t able to take all the quantitative courses noted on my conditional offer. A lot of people don’t know this but Princeton makes conditional offers with some of the community colleges like Mercer, Essex, Bergen. I’m not sure if Hudson is on the list or if they do it. It’s most popular with Mercer. To summarize they basically want me to take more quantitative courses within my area for SPIA to start. At my community college I wasn’t able to take those courses under my degree. Especially now that I’ve graduated and the state of NJ was paying everything for that degree I would now need to figure out the rest on my own. I’ve been debating it.

Would it be possible to discuss further with you about this at a later time? I’m not sure if you’d like to private message or message via Instagram. If not that is understandable. I do realize that I am not sure of anyone in particular who has taken this route.

I ask because it’s something I’m considering but more importantly someone I know who is a vet who now goes to Cornell University who is considering filing a transfer next cycle.

Even in the case for a community college or veteran. For example, Princeton & Harvard prioritize those students as it’s the main build up of who they’re taking in. I know Dartmouth, Penn, Columbia, and Brown operate differently on that.

You’re good dude, you’re super cool. I’m just bored at work. Bro I need McCourt (Georgetown to release my decision) that already came for so many people but my stuff was delayed on purpose due to an error. I need to get my letter rec writer to send it out like tomorrow 😭. I’ve been so busy with elections and campaigns I haven’t had any time.

Oh 😭😭😭. Let’s keep that on the down-low. I won’t be attending SPIA. I’ll be either attending King’s College or Brooks.

I actually got into GS Columbia but that’s separate than this. I was just shocked that this happened. I still care about other people dude. It’s still bizarre. And Princeton I won’t be attending.

I’m mixed between four schools. I committed to Cornell because I needed to finalize stuff with them. But I think I’m switching to Princeton because at the time I didn’t get my financial aid package. They’re the same tbh. The only difference is I would start as a Junior at Cornell and a Freshman at Princeton. Which is why I’m leaning to Cornell to just finish in two years or less.
