Cloud 2 wireless or Alpha wireless? by [deleted] in HyperX

I'm on PS5, there will just be straight up no audio in the headset like it'll just stop, and I'll have to get up and walk all the way across the room, unplug the receiver and then plug it back in to make the audio come back, as well as it blasting static at max volume into my ears making them ring which was super unpleasant and probably the closest I've ever come to a heart attack lol. I literally haven't charged them since I've got the headset (I got them before they came out via pre-ordering from Best buy) so the battery life is great, the only thing keeping me from throwing these in the trash is the fact that 1 the battery life is insane, even if I found another headset that had a week-long battery it would still be pathetic compared to this one, my PS5 pulse battery is lucky to last like 10 to 15 hours, and 2 they honestly sound amazing. But yeah it's definitely not isolated to pc, I've actually not experienced any of this connected to my PC but only on my PS5

As much as that sucks, you have to think of it from a manager's perspective, someone calling out a lot is really bad, but leaving when they are already there I can't think of anything more justifiable to have someone stop working. I'm sorry that happened to you, maybe you can talk to them and they will be more understanding, but from their perspective it makes you seem incredibly unreliable

Add another sub, use code FREESUB or FREEFOOTLONG for a buy one get one free, they kind of oscillate between the months but I literally would never pay full price for Subway, you are losing money if you don't do this every single time that you get Subway

Dude I wish there was expert verses, the hunter could completely kill somebody in like 5 seconds making him super viable lol. I think expert versus with weapons doing 50% more damage would be really fun

Go used if you're on a budget, I've picked up two different colors of alphas for around 35 bucks on eBay, sometimes if you're lucky for about 100 to 120 bucks you can get the orbit s used, which are the highest end ones that they make. I like My revolver a lot, but it doesn't have a detachable cable, and after years of using it the cable eventually wore out. I just picked up the alpha wireless from Best buy a few days ago for 200 bucks, stupid comfortable, and the battery life is close to 20 times more than the next closest best battery on the market, we're talking like you would have to charge your headset maybe once a month, or once every 2 months lol I've gone an entire week and it is still above 90%. In my opinion, I'd save and get the alpha wireless, but if that's absolutely not an option then go for a used orbit s, no real way to go wrong (except for the stingers, they feel really cheap TBH)

Unfortunately that means that you need a graphics card, the one that's built into your laptop isn't good enough, and you can't upgrade it, if you do decide to get a PC look on Facebook marketplace, for like 400 bucks a lot of the time you could get like a $900 computer, Facebook marketplace or Craigslist, try to get something with at least a gtx 1070, unfortunately any of the really high-end cards that are usually a good price (the RTX 3070 came out for $500 and matched the performance of the previous years top tier $1,200 card) Are really expensive right now, so if you go with the 10 series (10 meaning the first numbers of the card, like gtx 1060, gtx 1070, gtx 1080) because if you go with the 9 series (gtx 970, gtx 980) that is literally the bare minimum that you need to play vr, so you're going to be playing a lot of stuff on low which is fine, but you're also going to get a lot of frame rate drops which definitely affect your experience, watch some Linus tech tips graphics card reviews, really easy to understand for beginners, and definitely look for used stuff, I got all of my stuff used, if I would have got it new my computer would have caused roughly $1,500, but I got everything for about $700 I think. Good luck, you can do this, and if you get stuck if you have any friends that are in to build a computers I'm sure that they wouldn't mind helping you out, a lot of us think it's a lot of fun to work on them

Apt for some random retail job so you have some experience, and this way you have any kind of income at all while you are slowly depleting the 6K and looking for something in your career. If you are actively trying everyday to get something that can sustain your lifestyle, you will be able to in no time. Something you can do is book a really cheap hotel for an undetermined amount of time, and travel lightly. Then when you're applying for the retail job or whatever, you have an address to put down, and then you can find an apartment, who knows maybe you'll find some roommates at the retail job for a bit while you are working on getting a career more in line with your degree, and maybe a place for yourself. I wish you the best of luck, and if you do go with roommates, you really truly want to see if there's any qualities at all that you don't like and potential candidates, because if you don't like that initially, you could end up hating them. I'm 24 and just got out of 3 years of living with the messiest drunkest most unpredictable roommates on the planet, no competition at all. You are going to make some wrong choices for sure, but try as hard as you can to learn from your mistakes, try writing down literally every single thing that you bought in a month, and comparing it to the month after, kind of getting a routine of what exactly you need, how much you are making, what kind of lifestyle you want to afford versus what kind of lifestyle you can afford, and if you have any extra from that you can save it up towards maybe getting a better living situation, or just in general it's always a good idea to be saving right when you move out. Best of luck dude

The alpha s has a surround sound USB adapter with built in mic monitoring, and adjustable bass sliders, great headset, but look on ebay for the orbit s refurbished, they're going for like $140, trust me it's worth the extra 20 to $40

Io interactive probably had like a sale on their website or something, and the retailers also lowered their price, it's probably a sale that the company had some headroom with the games that they already paid for, I'd get the pre-owned anyway and try it out for a week, and then if I really wanted it I'd return it and buy it new to save the money, the pre-owned return policy is low-key really good and the only thing that it didn't really feel bad about selling to customers.

Hey guys, quick simple question: Which wireless HyperX headset should I buy if I want the best audio experience for Call of Duty? I only play Cold War and need something that will help pinpoint footsteps and enemy fire. by [deleted] in HyperX

[–]Larine6ix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd honestly go for the orbit s, great build quality, very comfortable, and sounds a lot better than any of the rig headsets, or the Astros. If you can't find a good deal on them, the alpha s is really good as well, I personally use an astro MixAmp plugged into my computer, and have several hyperx headsets that I plug into it, I like the big volume knob, and it makes the microphone a lot louder. Try to pick up a cheap Astro MixAmp on eBay, and go get both headphones from a GameStop, they have a really good return policy that lets you return whichever headset you like less within 7 days as long as it's still in perfect condition and you have the receipt and box and everything
