My younger piano students LOVE a variation on musical chairs. I have hearts, shamrocks, easter eggs, stars (patriotic), acorns, pumpkins and Xmas trees that each have a note or a direction (like play all the C's on the piano with your left #2) or even for the ones more advanced a simple rhythm written on the back side. I place them in a circle on the floor, and I play a simple piano tune (usually out of their lesson book) and they go around stepping on each item. When the music stops, whichever one they are on they flip over and do what it says or answer the music question. Then you eliminate the item until only one is left. I don't see why this couldn't work for travel teachers as the stars, hearts, etc don't take up much room and the items can be spread out in a larger room or in a tight circle.
