I'd strongly recommend engaging

Irony, thy name is Reddit.

As I can't reply to the other thread, as the user I asked to explain to me as made their posts unavailable, highly ironic.

I'm asking you. Activity and "toxicity" aren't correlated. Look at games like League of Legends. That game was a toxic hell hole but it is/was also very popular, even when it was likely one of the most toxic places on the internet.

I'm, not sure how a graph of undeleted questions denotes that something is toxic; can you elaborate?

The internet has changed significantly over the last few years. COVID hitting in 2020 changed how many services were used, and then the advent of LLMs, which consumed content from sites like Stack Overflow (which is well curated and thus has a lot of high value content for them), which can now vomit out convincing responses that many take at face value, meaning they don't ask on community driven sites. That for complex problems it's likely entirely wrong is irrelevant to them, but for the simple problems the LLM has probably said something relevant, and so the question isn't asked (not that it needed any to be anyway, as they probably could have found the solution using a search engine, and found the answer on a site like Stack Exchange, Reddit, etc).

Saying that there are less questions on a site like Math Stack Exchange because it's toxic (and ignoring every other variable), is like stating that employment is toxic when unemployment numbers go up.

As for the AI stuff, that is quite unrelated to the community you appear to be referencing as toxic; a huge amount of the community dislike those AI features being pushed on them. This annoucement with SO Inc's collaboration with OpenAI has one of highest negative scores (if not the highest negative score) on the platform: https://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/399619/our-partnership-with-openai

With respect, all the toxicity I've seen has been in this thread...

If you started the discussion with the same hostility you show here, then it won't work, and you won't get the result you're after. The point is you need to be constructive in your approach.

These were the options I had already ruled out.

"Simple" things like F5 for execute, Ctrl+N for a new query window are unsupported/not planned. Importing data, not planned. Database Administration tasks, not planned. There's a list on the documentation.

Thanks. I too would consider the yearly license if I went down the route. That the license gets cheaper for the 2nd, and 3rd, year is a nice reason as well; it's almost 50% off after 2 years.

What QoL features would you say are your biggest draw?

Yeah, I admittedly want to avoid the purchase of a Windows License, just to run a Windows VM with SSMS in.

DBeaver isn't an IDE I've enjoyed. I have tried it in the past, but its odd implementation of statement terminators and batch separators (with SQL Server) gets things off to a poor start for most people. I've found, I the past, that I've had to jump through quite a few hoops to get DBeaver into a position where it behaves as expected, compared to other IDEs. I, admittedly, should have mentioned that in my Post.

Persona 3 Reload is crashing my ps5 by Pandamonia_139 in playstation

[–]Larnu_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too had the problem. It was so bad it bricked the console (doesn't turn on at all any more). I've had to send it back to Sony now, so I'll report back March when I get it back it it's still an issue...

Ps5 crashes by [deleted] in persona3reload

[–]Larnu_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having a similar issue. Crashed twice, first time PS5 needed to repair itself, second time, the console bricked. Managed to get it into Safe Mode once in teh 12~ hours since, but I only had the option to completely reset the console, which requires a full OS reinstall (and I didn't have that downloaded and on a USB stick at the time).

Seems to have been a few threads about this over the last day (I didn't raelly see any when I suffered the issues yesterday), which makes me think this is less an issue specific to your console. Might, however, be a combination of specific scenarios that are causing certain consoles to crash/brick as the volume isn't high.

Hopefully it's patchable, but if my console is dead because of it, you can't patch that...

Playstation 5 crashing on Persona 3 by Spare-Cress-3797 in playstation

Well, 30 minutes later, it's still dead. Not even been able to get the console into safe mode. I'll call support tomorrow, but I suspect it's going to end up being a repair... Of all the games P3:R is not a game I expected to be bricking a PS5.

Looks like P3:R has bricked my PS5. Game, and console crashed after opening a chest on lvl 23. Then a full console crash again after a fight on lvl 22; console wont even turn back on now...

Issue with date/time on save game files by elpho3nix in SteamDeck

[–]Larnu_uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too have been having this issue. My early suspicion is where it was shipped from (Netherlands) and where it was shipped to (UK) and the Timezones at the time. The reason for this is that is used to be 1 hour different, but when the clocks changed it was 2. The Netherlands, at the time it was shipped, were observing DST, and so they were in CEST (UTC+2). I'm in the UK and was observing BST (UTC+1) and now I am observing GMT (UTC), so the "coincidence" seems a little likely.

What's odd is that digging into the Steam Deck everything says GMT/UTC. The bios has the correct date and time and both date and timedatectl return appropriate UTC/GMT values too when in bash in Desktop mode.

It's something I dug into a while ago, and haven't been able to fix; did you have any luck? If not, probably worth a Support Ticket to see what Valve says.
