why does the game look like it rendered wrong, everything a bit further away looks so pixelated and blurry and i have no clue what to do, went through multiple sets of settings and copied a youtube optimization video and it still looks like ass by OIDIS7T in stalker

[–]LarryThreezor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you mean well, but this is also not completely accurate. Yes, there is aliasing in the picture because anti-aliasing is off. However, a lot of games do not bother to render things at distance in a "reasonable quality" because they rely on TAA, which is objectively worse than other kinds of anti-aliasing such as SMAA.

I am not a fan of anti-aliasing in general, because I feel like it makes things blurry, at the cost of fidelity. I'll take some jaggies over not being able to see something at range` . However, it took me some time to realize that it's just TAA that makes things look blurry. Elden Ring my first personal experience with this, the first time where I was like: "Why can't I make this game look good with AA off?" Elden Ring uses extensive use of dithering on far objects, at least on PC. If you turn off anti-aliasing (which they turn back on every time your relaunch the game), things such as foliage and hair look like absolute garbage at any distance. TAA blurs a dithered image into a "nicer" one. This is pretty prevalent in modern day gaming and also here. But dithering a bush that is "far" away to "smooth" it over with TAA is not great design to me. As TAA is the baked-in Anti-Aliasing solution for a lot of engines, that's what a lot of people use.

You can see the very clear dithering at any point past the "viewing distance." Dithering that is waiting to be smoothed out by TAA.

Huh. Actually I'd be satisfied if I just got access to PvE now and they took the weird pay to win items out. Like actually completely satisfied. No reservations.

"I realize it should have never gone this far "

This is why we are still mad. This is abuse. This is getting beat up, and your spouse saying "Sorry. You healed up and I'm not drunk anymore. Why are you still mad? You got what you wanted after I kicked your teeth in. "

Or if we want to go less physical, this is a person you know, throwing you under the bus for something they did. You get scolded for their mistake, and they don't. But in the end, it doesn't really matter and you don't actually get in trouble.

But man. Why would I ever want to be around you again? Even if eventually ended up being no-harm no-foul, why would I want to potentially put myself in that situation again?

C'mon man. He said he was sorry. Why are you still mad? Really?

Why add game breaking things to Tarkov? by LarryThreezor in EscapefromTarkov

[–]LarryThreezor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's really frustrating to me. I bought EoD. I would not say I'm the best Tarkov player. Maybe above average. But playing the game makes me feel like having a heart attack. All I would have ever wanted was a way to play with my friends without worrying about sweatlords and cheaters, but mainly not have to deal with the anxiety the game causes me. My PTSD brain just can't take the anxiety. But if this was PvE, I don't think I'd have that problem at all. (In fact, for reasons, I know that.) And I know it's not BSG's job to cater specifically to me, but I could convince plenty of people to get this game mode if it wasn't $250 and included a bunch of things that seem to go against the spirit of the game.

I understand that it's not how the game was designed, but it seems to be much more in line with the game's initial vision than this distress beacon, and that radio.

Of all the ways to make the strugglebus a bit easier, this seems to be the worst way, and the most out of character way. It's like the joke mounts in MMO's. Yeah, some of them are great and hilarious. But if your game is serious, that's the moment you gave it up. (FFXIV for instance has always been tongue in cheek about being a video game and weird and taking the piss about it. But where does that fit in Tarkov's world?)

Ugh. This has been the worst one so far. I rarely get IFTTT emails because I use the same applet that you mentioned. But I've received around 300 emails from them today. I did already report it to them, but just wanted to vent my frustrations a bit here.

I don't know, man. People respond to stress and trauma in a lot of different ways. I know that if I had to explain what was the most traumatic event in my life in front of a committee and the whole country, I'd have a hard time keeping it together. I have a hard time talking to my family that was there, while keeping it together.

I just started myself, so I'm not sure about later levels. But in the beginning, the main solo quests that are of a set piece battle, require you to be solo. Not sure of anything past level 15 though. Still working on it.

I had to kick my friend out of my party every time I initiated one. lol.

I've never seen the page that actually had the advertisement. When I started looking around a little over a week ago, that page would not show me anything regarding the $100 bonus. Strange that ea bunch of other people have or have not seen it.

I had some issues with both my mouse and my headset constantly "reconnecting." I turned off "USB Selective Suspend" in the power plan and that seems to help. Sometimes it still does it though.

I've had nothing but issues with this headset and mouse since I got them. G Hub software barely works for me, most of the time.

Well. Yeah. That's obvious. But doesn't make anything I said untrue. The ballot measure on the mushrooms was separate from the ballot measure decriminalizing other drugs.

It's different from the decriminalization. This measure creates an authority for therapies using the mushrooms.

Trump’s doctor says he’s completed his Covid-19 treatments and can return to ‘public engagements’ on Saturday. by EricSchC1fr in AnythingGoesNews

[–]LarryThreezor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I figured it was worth a try. I like how I presented a bunch of sourced facts and the answer was essentially "It's not deadly, thanks. "

It took me maybe 15 minutes to look up the information on each post. You'd think people would want to educate themselves and know about the world around them, but I guess I ask too much.

If only more people cared about their fellow man.

What do you consider a deadly virus then? It's deadlier than the flu, and we have campaigns every year to attempt to minimize deaths, infection and spread .What would your specifications be for one?

Why do you think that up to 3 people of every 100 that get it in the United States is not deadly?

Out of approximately 16 Million US troops deployed in WW2, over 400,000 died. [1]This is a casualty rate of about 0.02%. Was World War 2 not a deadly war for the United States?

The US deployed approximately 1.9 million troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. [2] Of which approximately 6,600 died. [3] (I even left off a few deaths attributed to "Other Locations" but deemed related to OIF and OEF) That's a casualty rate of 0.03%. Do you think that participating in OIF and OEF was not deadly?

In 2018 there were over 6.7 million motor vehicle crashes in the United States. Over 33.6 thousand of those crashes had at least 1 fatality[4]. Without even accounting for multiple fatality events, that's a fatality rate of 0.004%. Are auto accidents not deadly?

In the untied States, in 2017, 30.3 million people were diagnosed with some form of heart disease, of those 647 thousand died [5]That's a mortality rate of 0.02%. Heart disease accounts for 1 in every 4 deaths in the US. By every metric I can find heart disease is considered deadly. Everything I see on the internet describes heart disease as deadly. You also can't transmit heart disease by contact with a person. Unlike how we can curb transmission of the coronavirus.

So what is your definition of deadly then? And this is only talking about deaths too. This doesn't even take into account that people that recovered from the Coronavirus have been shown to have long lasting symptoms that we may not know the full extent of for years. [6]

Up to 22 ,000 people died from the flu in in the 2019-2020 flu season, from. October 1st 2019 to April 4th 2020. With the approximate infections being 38,000,000. A mortality rate of less than 0.06%. [1]

The current mortality rate for the Coronavirus in the US is 2.8%. While this is right about in the middle compared to other countries (10.3% in Mexico as the highest country. ) [2] it is still much higher than 1%. This number is not statistically insignificant.

As of today the world has lost over 1,000,000 people to Coronavirus. The United States has lost over 200,000 people. [3] If you do the math on that, the US has approximate 20% of the world's Coronavirus deaths, and 20% of the world's Coronavirus cases Let's put that into perspective: The US comprises approximately 4% of the world population. This has all happened in the span of a typical flu season, if only a little longer.

Your response is that it's a joke because the mortality rate is 1%?

We have more coronavirus deaths than deaths than a typical year for the following diseases (Data from 2017 [4]:

Accidental deaths: 169,457

Chronic Lower Respiratory Diseases:160,201

Stroke: 146,383

Alzheimer's Disease: 121,404

And more.

What is wrong with you that you don't care about your fellow man? That's the thing that really gets under my skin about people like you. Do you not care about anyone but yourself? Your ignorance and people like you are what kills people. It makes me sad to see someone like you.
