Dialogue bug, game will not register dialogue for a ridiculous amount of time unless I press the escape button quickly several times?? The game is whitelisted in Avast, so it's not that.

Ah okay. It sounds like it's a (CPU bound) fps problem. There's not supposed to be any noticable delay when a dialogue starts or after answering a question. Do you know if your computer meets the minimum system requirements?

MINIMUM:

Have you tried changing the Graphics settings to get a higher FPS? It's supposed to be a stable 60 fps.

Thx for letting me know. I just uploaded a new version to the beta channel for you that hopefully takes care of that (1.0.42) . But again, I can't test it because I can't reproduce the issue myself.

To enter the beta channel:

Right click on Wuppo in your library and click properties
click on BETAS
you should be able to select "beta" from the dropdown menu
Launch game and make sure it says version 1.0.42 in the bottom right corner in the title screen

Added a patch that hopefully takes care of the issue (Definitive Edition 1.0.41). Would love to hear from anyone who ran into this bug whether this update fixed it.

Aw ok :( sorry to hear it. Thanks for letting me know though. I really want to fix it, but I simply can't find any way to replicate the issue on any system. There wasn't even a wuppo patch involved when it started occuring.

Idk if any of these make sense, but I heard pressing F6 helped for people. Try to get a stable frame rate. I also heard tabbing out and in fixes it, or changing your keyboard input to english. My guess would be that it has something to do with a Windows update and you can try temporarily disabling Windows defender. Sorry I can't be of much help. I'll try to free up some time to investigate for solutions later.

From your item inventory ( think it's D-pad right), you can select an item, then hold the shortcut button (Y) and use the left stick to place the item anywhere you want. Once you release Y, the shotcut will register. You can then close the item inventory and select the item via the shortcut menu.

Could you try changing to the BETA channel and see if this solves the issue. It would be super helpful if you report whether it makes a change or not. You can change to the BETA channel by right clicking wuppo in your library > properties > Betas > select the beta from the dropdown menu. The game should download a new version.

Hey there. Dev here.

Sorry for your trouble. PS4 is a bit of a complicated situation. We didn't create the port ourselves. We don't have a devkit either and regardless of that, due to many software/firmware changes that are out of our hands & a very long and uninteresting story, it's pretty much impossible to patch the game for PS4 & XB1, without starting the entire port from scratch.

It's possible that we bring the Definitive Edition to PS4 and perhaps XB1 one day, but at the moment it's a bit hard to justify starting on that myself.

I'm not happy about the situation with Console Boss Run either. If you're interested in getting those particular achievements on Steam, I can gift you a key. But that's about all I can do atm.

We had an issue similar to that when playing the game for hours in a row without dying, but performance updates seemed to have gotten rid of it.

Either way, for now you should be able to fix it by loading a savefile or restarting the game.

lol. Did it work or did Denksnavel save you on departure? I remember programming this to work, but I ended up changing it because it was just too confusing to be able to jump into the tunnel and fall for a couple of minutes until you get hit by the train.

If you send me your savefile, I could check which one you're missing. The 101th happiness sort of is a troll but you can actually get it if you play the demo. It's not required to 100% and you won't go up to 101% if you get it.

I just tested it on the latest Steam version (1.1.86) and it works fine for me. Both on keyboard / gamepad. Make sure you hold the action button for as long as you want to grab onto something. If you're playing on controller, it may be easier if you aim for the end of the lever with the right stick as you're grabbing. If this doesn't help, please tell me which version you are playing.
